Nice Photos.

Most of us have taken one or two nice photos.

Here is my candidate as being almost quite good. In fact it is two painstakingly joined.

Taken up in the mountain at Skurdalsvatn in 2000.

Though this one takien in Warsaw in November 2006 is not bad:

I know there are several good photgraphers here, and it would be nice to see some of you best efforts if you feel inclined to share!

I've done a quick example here, let me know what you think...

I'm guessing a Ford 1172cc sidevalve 4-pot...

That's a great shot ewemon. I like the sun in the frame.

If I was being super critical, I would say the overall colour is a little overdone. Perhaps too much cyan.

I'm only critical on great shots.

Rackkit, I think the cropped shot makes it look like a predictable twee reflection. The sun crop gives it a deeper third dimension and more area for the pic to draw you in.

Ermm...Not sure it's Ewemon's pic. He normally will add 'not one of mine' to them...It's quite a well known pic of The Moon Bridge in Taipei that was in the press a fair bit last year. The photographer is on Flickr and has some amazing bird shots (not usually my thing but they are terrific). Forgive me if I'm wrong Ewemon and he is you/you are he!

If it's not ewemon's pic, that's a joke. I presumed this thread was for people to post their pics and not just generic "nice pics" from the internet that we can all Google. What's the point in posting other people's pics?

Don't want a discussion or to divert this thread, as already has been with the flickr obsessive rant.

That's Vespas for you. Monocoque construction, engine mounted off set one side spare wheel battery in the other, covered by the blister panels.   Lambrettas were steel framed and had their engines inline with their frames.

I have no idea what you're talking about Howard, but it certainly sounds credible.

It's the way I tell 'em.

If you ever learn how to frame the precious Leica properly, I may even comment on one of yours Kevin haha.

And if you ever have the balls to put your money where your mouth is, people might start taking you and your largely unasked-for "advice" seriously. I can only recall seeing three of your pics on here recently - a pretty but unremarkable shot of a flower and an insect; a superb shot taken in Blackpool; and another unremarkable shot taken in the Olympic Park. You've made more comments on other people's work than you've put on this thread.

The difference between us is that I never claimed to be a great or even good photographer. I do it for my pleasure, and that of family and friends. And occasionally I get paid for it.

All you ever do is make pompous and preposterous pronouncements such as the one above. It may come as a shock to you, I know, but I - and I suspect, many others here - think I can manage without your comments. It'll be hard, but I think I can get through.

I do put my money where my mouth is, I do it for a living. People pay me and tell me I'm very good, so I continue.

The shot of the flower was remarkable, because it's a new and beautiful introduction, hence the named flower. It was posted as a flower shot and not as a work of art, although the frozen bee's wings were tricky to capture.

I posted a series of Olympic snaps, not one, and they were taken during a whirlwind visit to watch the games with very limited public only access. Again, they were posted to show people references to the games and not art.

The Blackpool shot was taken whilst shooting another project and I turned around, took a snap of the beach during boring midday light. I Photoshopped it to make it look like a semi-painting. Many people thought it was superb on my Facebook. I thought it was alright.

You are very old school Naim Forum material, trying to drum up bullying support from others. I had thought all of you had left to join the luddites on another forum.

Have to say guys that this thread is one of the nice ones, and a good reason to visit the forum.

On this basis i hope that this will not degenerate into a verbal offensive, as the nett result is that no ones wins.

Maybe we can just leave it and move on (hopefully so)

i personally enjoy viewing all the photos, of whatever quality. nice light hearted entertainment

Keep up all the good work (each and every one of you)

I think it is great that you earn a living from photography. The problem I have is not with your photos or your skills but your attitude and tone.

Your bombast and overinflated sense of your talent;  the way you have set yourself up as some sort of guru;and the way you act as if you own the place (or this thread) are all just begging to be mocked. Maybe I shouldn't have succumbed to temptation - it's a bit like shooting fish in a barrel in your case - but your ill-tempered response to a bit of gentle mockery indicates that you take yourself way too seriously.

Nice try on the bullying front by the way - but perhaps you should remove the mote from your own eye?

With respect to Paul's comment above, I will now leave this matter and continue to post my badly-framed worthless snaps taken with overpriced optical jewellery.
