Nice Photos.

Most of us have taken one or two nice photos.

Here is my candidate as being almost quite good. In fact it is two painstakingly joined.

Taken up in the mountain at Skurdalsvatn in 2000.

Though this one takien in Warsaw in November 2006 is not bad:

I know there are several good photgraphers here, and it would be nice to see some of you best efforts if you feel inclined to share!

Thanks Kevin.  I've lots more over on LFI but need to make the effort to upload to a shareable like Flickr.

Photography was what I wanted to do when I 'grew up' but I flunked the college interview and didn't get a place - guess I just wasn't up to it.  I stopped taking pictures for years and only started again 9 years ago when my father bought me a Leica Digilux 1 for my 40th.

I'm really glad he did that.  My daughter uses the 1 now and I stick to the M8 with 1 lens.  I like the restriction it imposes. G.

I will have a look on LFI Graeme. I know what you mean about having just one lens: I only have one, an old 50mm 'Cron, which is/was all I could afford. But it's good to work within a restriction, as you say.

While no 'Leica-phile'. I have a Digilux 2 which is one of my favourites and I can't help but think Leica were trying to make a new one of these (and perhaps failing) with their latest effort...

Nice Jamie.  I had a 2 for a while and liked it as a camera but couldn't get past the fact that I preferred the IQ of the 1.

I grew up with a little Ricoh G500 rangefinder and guess thats why I prefer them to SLR's. G

Wow!  That takes me back.  Where is that shot from?

I toyed with buying one S/H for sentimental reasons but the foam is usually degraded beyond use.

Nice 40mm lens it has too.  It's the focal length I still use albeit with a slight crop factor on the M8.

It really was a nice camera to use but the rangefinder went off kilter on mine and I swapped it for a small metal LOMO when I was a student. G

Ha, it's from this morning...It's my one!

Posted on: 15 June 2013 by GraemeH

Ah....is your foam intact? G

Posted on: 15 June 2013 by JamieWednesday

Yes but I replaced it when I bought it. It's a pretty simple job on most cameras, especially this one if I remember rightly because it is sheets attached to the door, rather than fiddling about in the back of the camera itself. Haven't used it some time now but there is a film in it...

Lovely Sandy. He/she looks, oddly, almost human.

I took this one four or five years ago on a compact point and shoot. Was  quite pleased with how it came out:

Is the 2nd pic zoomed from the same position as the 1st Kevin?  If so that's not a bad little P&S! G
