Nice Photos.

Most of us have taken one or two nice photos.

Here is my candidate as being almost quite good. In fact it is two painstakingly joined.

Taken up in the mountain at Skurdalsvatn in 2000.

Though this one takien in Warsaw in November 2006 is not bad:

I know there are several good photgraphers here, and it would be nice to see some of you best efforts if you feel inclined to share!

Edit. Clicked through. Didn't realise the B&Ws were also of the sculptural exhibition. It is impressive work, for sure.

Are these your photos, Kev?

Yes, they are Winky. Taken at an art exhibition. Why do you ask?

See edit. I like the conceopt of the art. Your photos capture it well. But still don't find the photo of the sculpture of the "wild man" a visually appealing image. The original artwork, perhaps......but I haven't seen this exhibition in person.

Thanks Winky.

Much of Mueck's work isn't very appealing in a purely aesthetic sense. Not pretty, but good, if you know what I mean. Part of the power of "Wild Man" is its size - it's about 10 feet tall - and the unbelievable, microscopic detail and realism. It's a bit like being Gulliver in Brobdingnag!

A photo can never capture the power of this work, so if they show any of his work in Canada, it's well worth you popping along for a look.

Thanks Kev, it was entirely unplanned, one second she was in the dark and the next the sunlight caught her and her steaming rice and I just had to have her, so to speak.

I think I will. It is definitely the sort of thing that appeals to me.

Don't know if anyone caught Countryfile on BBC1 tonight...They announced the 12 pics for next year's Children in Need calendar. One of which is mine. Well chuffed!

Hi Jamie,
I spotted it straight away. Well done and good luck!

All 12 photos have something special about them.

Just wondered which of the others you like?

Thanks Chaps. On their web page you can see all the pics. Mine is Swan Lake. There is a competition to vote for your favourite.

Guess which one I voted for?

Nice set of pics by the others too. I like "Sheep Skyline" particularly.

Highlight the picture on flickr you want to post. Click on the 'share this' icon on the bottom right of the image, select the BBC code, copy and paste it in your Naim reply box, delete the info that is not between [img]s (in my box I am deleting the first and bottom lines and keeping the second) and post.

Haim

Example:

Here is a BBC code from one of my images. To have the picture shown I have to delete the first third and four lines as well as the [url] in the end of the second line.

Thanks Haim, but just tried that and it gives a small image but no opportunity to link to a big pic.

Above the BBC code is a size selector that lets you choose 'large' or even bigger 'original'.

Posted on: 02 September 2013 by count.d

Just tried that Haim. The image size selected is 2000 x 1285, I'm keeping only the 2nd line and deleting the [url} at the end. It still just shows a small image on this site with no opportunity to link to bigger pic on flickr. I'm spending too much time on this, so will have another look later.

I'm on a free Flickr account if that changes anything?

Is this it?
