Here is my candidate as being almost quite good. In fact it is two painstakingly joined.

Taken up in the mountain at Skurdalsvatn in 2000.
Though this one takien in Warsaw in November 2006 is not bad:

I know there are several good photgraphers here, and it would be nice to see some of you best efforts if you feel inclined to share!

Thank for posting this one for me.
This is in Spring 1979. It might be 1978, but I don't think so now.
The house in the distance is Evesbatch Farm. But the main point is the family of horses. The mother on the right was a very kindly, though very rarely rather feisty mare called Faro, and on the left is a nearly two year old foal, and the little one in the middle is not quite twelve months
Normally brood mares do not walk towards humans, let alone looks so happy about it. My father always told me that one day Faro would turn if she was with her foals, but there was a trust between me and the old girl, so that no such incident could have happened. She was extremely protective of her offspring with almost everyone else!
The consequence was the foals were also completely happy to mix with humans as well, and that is very rare. Foals are more like the wild ponies of Dartmore or the New Forest till they are handled after weaning.
By this time the elder foal would keep pace with her mother [as seen here], and junior had to rush along like some terrier in the company of a greyhound!
I took this photo on 120 film with an Agfa Synchrobox. A simple box camera, and made just after the War.
I cropped out some the sky, but obviously the composition was dictated by the walking horses as much as anything planned! It is fascinating that junior alwas had mother on one side and her elder sister on the other.
I think it qualifies as nice photo for all that!

Had short walk around Ifield Mill Pond this morning. Mr Robin was "chatting" away.
