Nice Photos.

Most of us have taken one or two nice photos.

Here is my candidate as being almost quite good. In fact it is two painstakingly joined.

Taken up in the mountain at Skurdalsvatn in 2000.

Though this one takien in Warsaw in November 2006 is not bad:

I know there are several good photgraphers here, and it would be nice to see some of you best efforts if you feel inclined to share!

dayjay, I don't know what shot you took, but this isn't Derwen****er (no where near). Please post your pic.

Edit; forum censorship won't let me write the name.

I'm amazed because it looks exactly the same!  I'll see if I can dig out my photo when I'm at base and we can compare. I thought it was to the left of Friars Crag where the fence runs off into the lake but clearly not!

I do indeed Tony, my mind was clearly playing tricks on me.  It was those wonderful reflections and the fence that threw me I think.  Still a great picture though of a lovely location.  Thanks Tony

As we seem to be focussing on Derwent Water, here's a photo from 2009 when it froze solid. I saw a woman pushing a pushchair right across it...

I know Howard, it's utterly pathetic. Hopeless was obviously created by censorius buffoons. A bit like those Victorian meddlers who bowlderised Shakespeare and the classics, and covered up piano legs, or their modern day equivalents who go around telling women to don burqas.

Posted on: 08 December 2014 by BigH47

OK I'll bite what is bowlderised?

If I look up bowdlerised I'll get the answer. Must still be early.

Posted on: 08 December 2014 by hungryhalibut

The word is actually 'Bowdlerise'. It's removing material considered improper.

Lovely count.d. It looks hauntingly familiar. The walk around Buttermere perhaps?

Can you say Butt? Is everywhere in the Lakes named after body parts?
