Most of us have taken one or two nice photos.

Here is my candidate as being almost quite good. In fact it is two painstakingly joined.

Taken up in the mountain at Skurdalsvatn in 2000.

Though this one takien in Warsaw in November 2006 is not bad:

I know there are several good photgraphers here, and it would be nice to see some of you best efforts if you feel inclined to share!

Great! Sometimes here at sunset it all turns orange and red. Probably the only thing worth.

Aha. Not quite, each year the BBC produce a calendar for the Children in Need charity, in conjuntion with their Countryfile programme. Mine was one of the pictures in the 2014 calendar (Mr November!). Forgot to enter last year...

Love it Fab. Are the colours natural, or did you use some saturation?

Spot the airport!

400m, the shortest commercial runway in the world, apparently. Cliffs both ends. Slopes uphill to aid deceleration. Departing planes take off by virtue of driving off the bottom. Interesting.

Great view from the top. Just enough gaps in the cloud.

Anyone else been here?

Would it be better to visit the place on a ship!

Nice photos!

Looks like Saba. Google is your friend.

Posted on: 04 February 2015 by ameden

But Saba is 396 metres....

Posted on: 04 February 2015 by rodwsmith

It is Saba! The peak is the highest point in the Netherlands (not saying much(!) but actually 877m, good trivia, and a fantastic hike). Lots of unique wildlife, but almost constantly shrouded in cloud. I had climbed it before years ago, but was hoping for a view this time (Sunday) and got one. Delighted!

According to seismologists, the volcano is showing early signs of awakening. It last erupted in the seventeenth century sometime.

George, there is a boat, but Saba has only a small port, and the crossing is a (usually) rough 1h20m. As I was on a day trip only, I went for the plane, which at $130 return seemed good value to me, even though it's only a fourteen minute flight (from neighbouring St Martin, 28 miles away).

Here's the airport from the summit;
