Nice Photos.

Most of us have taken one or two nice photos.

Here is my candidate as being almost quite good. In fact it is two painstakingly joined.

Taken up in the mountain at Skurdalsvatn in 2000.

Though this one takien in Warsaw in November 2006 is not bad:

I know there are several good photgraphers here, and it would be nice to see some of you best efforts if you feel inclined to share!

Not a "great" photo, but Mrs D took it a couple of days ago on her phone, having been woken up from an afternoon nap on the deck.

Are you on those stupid fat bikes?

Posted on: 02 June 2015 by Chalshus

Yes.

Why do you call them stupid?

Posted on: 02 June 2015 by George Johnson

They are not stupid, but they are very good for exercise!

Christian, i am in Norway a week Thursday to see my aunt and visit Oslo and Skurdalen for the nt.h time!

Here is a fast bike ... a 1984 Carlton Kermesse ...

I have the ambition to bring this bike to Norway one day! Maybe permanently ...

Not so much the bikes being stupid, as the use people put them to. On all but soft sand and snow, you'd be better off on a regular mountain bike. Hey, but any ride is better than no ride!

The three of us have combined 19 bikes, and have the two other guys have worked in the bike industry their whole life. I think we know what bike to use.

And with these conditions we had last weekend, fat bike was the best option, and you can carry more stuff on it.

Fair enough. Why can a fat bike carry more?

Posted on: 03 June 2015 by Chalshus

We are bike packing, not trekking. We carry less stuff for trail riding and to have a certain balance on the bike. The terrain here are quite technical and we sometimes have to push or carry our bikes.

My fat bike have a rear rack and wider bottom bracket that allows for a wider frame bag compared to my other bikes. The wider tires gives me better traction and lower ground pressure. Too much weight on the front wheel gives an odd feeling.

Nice. Very atmospheric.

Thanks, Clay.

There is always plenty of atmosphere under the elevated train tracks of the Chicago Loop. You just have to show up there with your camera.
