Nice Photos.

Most of us have taken one or two nice photos.

Here is my candidate as being almost quite good. In fact it is two painstakingly joined.

Taken up in the mountain at Skurdalsvatn in 2000.

Though this one takien in Warsaw in November 2006 is not bad:

I know there are several good photgraphers here, and it would be nice to see some of you best efforts if you feel inclined to share!

Haim,

Which 105mm Micro Nikkor do you have? I have the old non AFS model. I like it a lot.

Winky,

How is the pup doing?

Mine is the AFS model though I never use the automatic focus. I belong to the (very) old school and have all my settings on manual.

The pup is doing great. I'll post another photo one of these days.

I rarely use the AF when doing macro work either. The DOF is so shallow that I find myself fixing the focus then moving the camera to focus on the piece of the shot I want to be sharp.

555, With this one, I dressed up in my cheerleader outfit and held the yellow pompoms between my armpits whilst taking the shots. This camouflage definitely worked, so I'll be using it again.

Just off to the public park to see what I can find.

Beautiful shot with a nice balanced depth of field. When everything is in focus the stuff becomes too scientific for me.

That is cool. There is some great video on YouTube of this very phenomenon. If you search "sound barrier break" there is a video of an f-18 flyby taken from a carrier that shows the cone and the jet in slo motion at about a distance of 200 feet. There is another taken of a jet in SF bay during fleet week with a much smaller cone but equally impressive.

Excellent shots count, what lens were you using?

Here's a procrastination shot from today. After being compressed to jpg and going through photobucket its lost a little something. But still nice.

I would be on my hands and knees on an edge like that!

Can't deal with heights unless I feel secure behind a well engineered barrier.

I remember having difficulty, late last year walking to the stone and cast iron edge of the Bridge at Ronda in Spain, which is amazingly tall!

I was going to try to take a downward photo, but could physically not geet near enough to the edge to aim the camera.

Real fear ...

Funny part of that image is I was goofing around like I tend to do, didn't know my buddy was taking the pic. And I indeed almost fell. Smile
