Here is my candidate as being almost quite good. In fact it is two painstakingly joined.
Taken up in the mountain at Skurdalsvatn in 2000.
Though this one takien in Warsaw in November 2006 is not bad:
I know there are several good photgraphers here, and it would be nice to see some of you best efforts if you feel inclined to share!

I only have one Leica lens of my own, a 35-year-old 50mm Summicron (all I could afford at the time). My favourite was a 35mm Sunmilux ASPH - borrowed it from a photographer friend. Incredible sharpness, no distortion, amazing bokeh, just seemed to suck the light in. Would love to get one - maybe after Xmas I'll start looking round for a secondhand example.
If you like 90mm, have you tried the APO-Summicron ASPH 90mm from the late 1990s? Really big and heavy for a Leica lens, but pretty amazing, especially when stopped down.

Yes some nice (maybe that's not the right word) photos there. The Elton John Ciollection show currently on at the Tate is well worth a visit if you're in the market for seeing some great historical photographs.

Sorry for the late reply Kevin - work got in the way! The Summilux series is really special, but they can be a bit big and can partially block the view through the view finder. They are wonderful for what they do at F1.4 though. I think the 35mm is about the right size?
But your Summicron 50mm is one of the best 50 F2 mm ever produced - a true classic! And one wouldn't be tempted to shoot wide open all the time. I sometimes feel that too many photos from Leica enthusiasts are shot that way; immediately beautiful and almost dreamy in character, but ultimately boring in the end. Your pool picture is a perfect example of how good a photo can be when the context is included and it's razor sharp from end to end of the picture.
I thought about the Summicron 90mm but it's the one lens I'd rather buy second hand. Prices are a bit high still. I'm wondering if one of the old Hectors would fit the bill, but will likely wait.
Thanks for your kind words, Mr Fjeld. The pool pic (I'll post it in a jif) was done at f4 with a 32 second exposure. The 'Cron is great at f8 or f16, and also for portraits at f2 or f2.4 (I'm a sucker for a wide open shot).I do think 35mm is a better length for general/landscape shots though.
I once tried an old Hektor from the 1950s - lovely lens but quite tricky to use as it was 135mm and it blocked part of the finder window. Not the sharpest, but produced lovely portraits in good natural light. I might buy one, they can be picked up pretty cheap s/hand.
That's lovely!

"current"
A friend of mine once introduced his wife of some years as his "current wife". She wasn't impressed, to say the least.

...no beginning you mean!
Photography was a first love but I didn't get in to the one dedicated degree programme in Scotland - wasn't up to it.
My son's doing it now though...Just to get one over on me I think!

Thanks Fabio.

Well, 2 out of 3 ain't bad!
I know it's sacrilege to some on this forum, but I've never been a fan of the Smiths - Hope HH isn't following this thread.
