Nice Photos.

Most of us have taken one or two nice photos.

Here is my candidate as being almost quite good. In fact it is two painstakingly joined.

Taken up in the mountain at Skurdalsvatn in 2000.

Though this one takien in Warsaw in November 2006 is not bad:

I know there are several good photgraphers here, and it would be nice to see some of you best efforts if you feel inclined to share!

From last nights Roger Waters "Us and Them" tour @ BST Hyde Park. Taken with an IPhone and compressed by Facebook, but I still love it.

Lovely shot seakayaker. How did you produce the slight black glow around the shadow detail?

I run past this sign around three times a week. Isn't it delightful?

I very rarely crop - but this time I had to. This is the view towards Hardanger on the west coast of Norway.

It is J.

On another note, I'm in love with your cat (or the cat that features regularly in your photos). Can I adopt him/her?

I crop nearly every shot. I rarely find the default aspect ratio to actually suit the image.

I also dislike the standard ratio in a more general sense, finding it aesthetically unattractive.

There you go. We see it differently and there is no "right" answer to this.

Out of curiosity - which format do you use? I find "full format" to be close to the 35 film format which I'm used to before digital photography and that's perhaps why I prefer not to crop.

On the telly I prefer 16:9........
