Nice Photos.

Most of us have taken one or two nice photos.
Here is my candidate as being almost quite good. In fact it is two painstakingly joined.
Taken up in the mountain at Skurdalsvatn in 2000.
Though this one takien in Warsaw in November 2006 is not bad:
I know there are several good photgraphers here, and it would be nice to see some of you best efforts if you feel inclined to share!

And I'd sell that M9 and get yourself 3 M6s or M4s....!
Already have my pair of M6's, one black chrome, the other silver chrome, and a DS M3, can anyone say smooth ?
I also have a III, a IIIc and a IIIF-red dial.
So I'm all set for film M's, we just don't talk about the M5 or R8 :-)

I tend to agree Shoot - although I believe Julian H is a R8 fan & user, so he may be along to tell us to shut up..! I've always avoided the M5 as well, as it seemed something of a brick, although I do understand it's actually quite nice in use....
That's a rather nice list you have there (as you can see from the post on that other, rather awfully nice, place I am a fan of a particular 6 edition, but I do like and own other Ms...hopefully one day, an original MP too !)
When it comes to taking pictures, I guess I'm an analogue man in a digital world, but the digital Ms have simply never made much of a blip on my radar....I confess I have 1/2 an eye on the M9, but the M8 was simply silly (and a huge disappointment after such a wait)...The M8.2 made some right steps, but was still an absurd proposal (nice black dot though!)...I feel much the same re M9 really. Although they have a lot of the usual M attributes, they are woefully over-priced and under-spec...........Reading above that Adrian(Lontano) was considering the M9 over his Canon(s) just brings out caution in me, especially if one is not already a M user - you are looking at further investment in lenses (fixed length remember), manual focussing, a 12Mb file size, minimum focus distance of about a mile (!) and a big hole in your wallet.....?
A funny story, from a friend and rather famous photographer who shall remain nameless, was when he was given 2 M8 bodies from Leica as aid/sponsorship/PR towards a large, long running, extensive travel involving, commission from the EU....at the end of which, much to Leica's taken aback surprise, he handed back saying "thanks, but no thanks" ! And this guy has been using Leicas for 30 years !
I just feel if you're going to shoot dig, then do it properly and for 1/2 the money - get a Canon !...Why mess about with the M.....Or, be done with it and get the S2 !!
Well, I guess it's all horses for courses. The paradox with me is that once film is shot, I'm digital nuts...! The camera below is older than I am, yet I am still to see a digital sensor image (under £10k) match a piece of 6x6 acetate that comes from it...(albeit scanned on a £15k scanner! )
"Digital - it'll never catch on you know !"

Jesus! - I've always strived to be as 'invisible' as poss when I'm taking pictures, but standing behind that R8 I actually could be....!!

Having and really loving an R7 I was a bit uncertain but I powered through and purchased my first R8 back in 1999 [I think it was]. It really grows on you with use. It is such a perfect shape for me and is ergonomically better than any other camera I have used. To date it’s been completely reliable too. The DMR was added in 2006 and, whilst I have not compared it to many current DSLR’s, I find the output superb. You've just gotta love the lenses too!
I don’t think there is an affordable camera I would rather own. I don’t get the urge to go to the R9 either. I’d like an M8 one day but it would only be a toy.

A mate of mine posing like he's inspecting an Airbus A300's main undercarriage bay/hydraulics. Now then, which union did I leave undone?

Is this thread about photos in general(last page) or really nice ones?
Sorry lads, had to.

Blueknowz, the best match I can see in Readers digest book of Butterflies Moths etc, is a Poplar hawk Moth. Possibles are Coxcomb and Oak Egga moths.

You are right Big H, a mate of mine confirms your answer. Poplar Hawkmoth poplar trees three fields away!
