Nice Photos.

Most of us have taken one or two nice photos.

Here is my candidate as being almost quite good. In fact it is two painstakingly joined.

Taken up in the mountain at Skurdalsvatn in 2000.

Though this one takien in Warsaw in November 2006 is not bad:

I know there are several good photgraphers here, and it would be nice to see some of you best efforts if you feel inclined to share!

And, in my mind, one of the mostest beautiful cars ever:

The Afla Tipo 33 Stradale. Perfect from every angle.

Not a techically fine shot, but gives a clue of something lovely, something English, something unobtainable in our modern world ...

And a consolation to me, given where the photo was taken, and when ...

All great pictures on this page. Very impressive.

I want to share how the same subject was shot and portrayed in two rather different ways.

Wow, & I made a positive decision not to go - Dohhh Roll Eyes

AvGasHeads will be doing a cylinder count as we speak - & no I am not going to
The Merlin's however mustav been a nice noise, & I include the Packard variants in that.

Oh well I guess I will see (hear) a few (less) at Fairford next weekend

Is that 22 x 12 cyls and 1 of 18 or 24? Sad I know.
I must admit to being unable to ID all in that picture , is there an Aircobra in there, if it's still flying? I see an F4 Corsair. Any others?

From memory, at least six Spitfires, one Hurricane, three Skyraiders, two Sea Furys, Corsair, three Russians, a few xCats. Twenty three aircraft in total.

Lovely.

The first known Mercedes if I'm not mistaken. The owner is a great bloke too, was talking to him in the pits.

Fantastic shot Tony Cool

Thanks James. I have shots of other cars that are in some ways better, but the drivers were leaning back or looking bored, so the photo's look a little lame.
And that's a stunning shot of yours!!

I think you will find it's a Mercedes Darracq. Have a look on the Goodwood webb. I will try and post one of my photos with me next to the owner.

Great shot of the dog James. Impressive.

Tony, what kind of gear do you use to get such closeups of the planes in flight?

Regards...

Flame,

I just use a Canon 40D with 70-200mm L series lens. However, sometimes I had to zoom back as pairs of aircraft were just too close.
I find that with propellor driven aircraft a shutter speed of 1/250th to 1/320th (I think) gives enough blur of the blades. However, the Sea Furys were so bloody fast and close that most pics were blurred. 1200 photos in three and a half hours!
