Nice Photos.

Most of us have taken one or two nice photos.

Here is my candidate as being almost quite good. In fact it is two painstakingly joined.

Taken up in the mountain at Skurdalsvatn in 2000.

Though this one takien in Warsaw in November 2006 is not bad:

I know there are several good photgraphers here, and it would be nice to see some of you best efforts if you feel inclined to share!

I find that with propellor driven aircraft a shutter speed of 1/250th to 1/320th (I think) gives enough blur of the blades. However, the Sea Furys were so bloody fast and close that most pics were blurred. 1200 photos in three and a half hours!

I would have never thought those were taken with a 70-200. I assumed a longer lens and possibly a teleconverter. I have never been to any of those shows but it sure seems like those planes are flying pretty close to the audience!

Sadly, not as scarily close as they did back before some horrendous incidents.

Congrats!

Today evening I did a few hour bike ride to the deserted harbour and sawmill quite near the place we are living. Luckily took my camera with me as it looked quite stunning..

Wish I had seen and taken this:

The text that goes with it explains:

A rare sight!! Yosemite National Park, California , USA
This park was gazetted as a national park in 1890. It is world famous for its rugged terrain, waterfall and century-old pine trees. It covers 1200 sq km and the "fire" waterfall of El Capitan is one of the most spectacular of all scenery.
The spectacular view of the waterfall is created by the reflection of sunlight hitting the falling water at a specific angle. This rare sight can only be seen at a 2-week period towards the end of February. To photograph this rare event, photographers would often have to wait and endure years of patience in order to capture them. The reason is because its appearance depend on a few natural phenomenon occurring at the same time and luck.
1st, Is the formation of the waterfall - The water is formed by the melting of snow and ice at the top of the mountain. It melts between the month of December and January and by the end of February there might not have much snow left to melt.
2nd, is the specific angle of the sunray hitting the falling water - The sun's position must be exactly at a particular spot in the sky. This occur only in the month of February and at the short hours of dusk. If it is a day full of clouds or something blocking the sun, you can only take pictures of your own sorry faces on the waterfall. It coincides with the fact that the weather in the National Park at that time of the year is often volatile and unpredictable. It compounds to the difficulty of getting these pictures.

enjoy

I've just bought it actually (in July) it's a Dell Lattitude E5500.

Previously and for many years I'd used my trusty Dell 1501 - It's travelled the globe with me but was getting a bit tired. Plus there were some ownership issues after my daughter's laptop failed! Roll Eyes

As you see, everyone liked my 1501 - It used to run a little warm too.................
