Most of us have taken one or two nice photos.
Here is my candidate as being almost quite good. In fact it is two painstakingly joined.
Taken up in the mountain at Skurdalsvatn in 2000.
Though this one takien in Warsaw in November 2006 is not bad:
I know there are several good photgraphers here, and it would be nice to see some of you best efforts if you feel inclined to share!

Nice one, Tony. Here's one from Kruger, 2005. Morning, rainy day in November.

A bug with attitude! A male Stag beetle. He flew into my reading lamp while I was in Italy a couple of weeks ago.

You do a lot of your photographic work, which is really excellent by the way, with, what I would call, architectural shapes and textures. Is that a profession or interest? Just curious.

Clay,
Nothing to do with a profession, just a way of capturing images. I take my time to familiarize myself with the scenes, get a sense of the place so when I finally raise the camera to shoot I am aware of more of what is in front of me.
I have a couple variations of Uri's touch taken in a sunny situation but I like much better the muted tones and the lower contrast of the image I posted.
Regards,
Haim

Clay,
If you are interested, you can contact me (hronen@comcast.net) and I will send you the URL of my flickr. I upload into the site most of the images I consider interesting.

My first attempt at using an off camera flash

Nice photo Flame. I have never tried black and white but I'm told it is possible on my Sony Alpha so I will give it a go. (By the way tell that boxer to keep his left elbow close to the body )

I will surely point that out to him. He is my cousin and never really boxed before :P Thank you for the compliments and I sure hope to see some of your black and white work over here. Although most cameras can shoot B&W, I suggest that you shoot in color and do the B&W conversion in post-processing software. It gives you more control.

Some more experimentation with a single flash.

Don't know if this qualifies as a "nice photo". I shot this in 2002 with a 1.3 megapixel olympus C900z. I was going over my backup drive and came across it. A bit of touch up with photoshop and here it is.

Yesterday played tourist in the bleakness that is Dungeness peninsular, sights include:-
"Old Lighthouse" is 150 feet high(one of the tallest in the UK) and has 169 steps to top, well worth the effort.
Being in this area just brings home how busy and crowded the channel narrows are.
A unique facility is the Romney Hythe and Dymchurch Light Railway, originally the "train set" of a couple of rich guys.

Ok, not as sharp as most pics here, but on my way to work this morning I couldn't let this scene go unrecorded. But I only had my iPhone........
