Nice Photos.

Most of us have taken one or two nice photos.

Here is my candidate as being almost quite good. In fact it is two painstakingly joined.

Taken up in the mountain at Skurdalsvatn in 2000.

Though this one takien in Warsaw in November 2006 is not bad:

I know there are several good photgraphers here, and it would be nice to see some of you best efforts if you feel inclined to share!

Yes you can. They have recently changed flickr, so click through to the section "view all sizes" and then you can link from there.

This was one I took a few days ago. Not the best picture but notice the the halo on the cloud of the shadow of my head. I believe it is called the "Glory" effect.

Indeed it is. Well worth looking at this site for more stuff on this kind of effect:

The rainbow halo is a glory, the persons shadow on the cloud is the spectre. See the Atmospheric Optics website.

Have you ever had the chance to visit the space museum in Huntsville, Al? You would like it as there is/was one of these "parked" by the front door.
