Nice Photos.

Most of us have taken one or two nice photos.

Here is my candidate as being almost quite good. In fact it is two painstakingly joined.

Taken up in the mountain at Skurdalsvatn in 2000.

Though this one takien in Warsaw in November 2006 is not bad:

I know there are several good photgraphers here, and it would be nice to see some of you best efforts if you feel inclined to share!

Thanks Fabio. I took lots of pics of this one tree, but started to get neck ache! One day I'll take a photo that can meet with my wife's approval for showing on one of our living room walls......

Oh I see,but I think you'll get a good result anyway:you've what I call a good eye for pics,despite your neck ache...

Thanks again  Brenda Tharp's book on landscape photography helped me to open my eyes a little more. I'm getting there, but some photos shown here by others make me realise I'll never stop stop learning. Which is a good thing! Tony

Not a technically good photo, but, I've never seen an aircraft release flares at an airshow. A truly beautiful and awe inspiring display by the Belgian pilot on his last ever public display in an F16. Cheers Mitch, you made my weekend.

And pulling some serious G:

Tony, you've surpassed yourself with these. Amazing! Did you do any post-processing or are these straight out of the camera?

Unfortunately, my 70-200 lens doesn't reach far enough, so some cropping involved, together with some curves adjustments and a little sharpening. The ol 40D has some life in it yet, but at over 1,700 shots in about 6 hours there can't be many airshows left in the shutter's life! Thanks for the comments, I've had a good run of airshows at Duxford this year. Tony

Good pictures Tony, I particularly like the last one.

I used to regularly attend the Mildenhall air show with my Pentax ME Super and a Tamron 70-210 zoom so can appreciate your shots. A big fast hideously expensive lens would have made things much easier, but I wasn't that lucky.

It was always a great atmosphere with shouts of 'air fete stickers' and the smell of barbecues.

George.

Aah, Mildenhall. I never did make it there as I always had something else on, like heavy drinking or going to a rally! And now I live quite close, no airshows. I'd like to go to Fairford, but I don't like the idea of advanced ticket sales only. Especially after the deluge there a couple of years ago. Tony

Another Duxford piccie from the last airshow. This time it's the Catalina running the engines prior to taxiing to the runway. Tony
