What book are you reading right now?

I thought I'd revive this classic old thread as I couldn't find the original.

I am currently reading Suetonius, 'The Twelve Caesars'.

How about you?

Highly amusing memoirs of a veteran rock hack:

Martin Cruz Smith is a talented writer but I do not recommend reading Tatiana.

Fantastic book Haim (the Dalrymple, that is). What do you think of it?

Frederick Forsyth   The Veteran   - A collection of short stories. I highly recommend this book, Frederick Forsyth never fails to deliver a cracking good read and the last story named Whispering Wind is so magically special and memorable that if I had the finance, talent and connections I would make a film out of it.

Loved these books

Me too.  Thought the films were a bit odd though.

Not even close, sloppy and rushed writing. His first book that I found disappointing.

Unputdownable book on the story of one of the greatest "movements" popular music has ever known:

"Space" by Stephen Baxter.  A must for any hard-core sci-fi fan and very cheap on Amazon for one's Kindle eReader.

Fascinating tale.

It sure is. I've recently been on kind of a Boyden binge. I read Through Black Spruce first; I liked both it and 3DR v much. Now I'm about 1/3 of the way through The Orenda. What a great, great, Canadian talent!

I heard a review of this on radio four a few weeks ago, sounded really interesting. Probably my next book purchase.

If you ever saw the Dead live you will know how he used to 'rumble out that bass'.  Great bass player and a great band.

Agreed.  Went to 70+ concerts in the mid-seventies through early eighties, but just a handful after that. My favorite Phil bass line usually ended the space jam, and launched "The Other One". Vividly recall how it would hit us in the chest, causing the crowd to rise as one, cheer and dance. Great memories!
