What new releases are you looking forward to?

I'll start the ball rolling...
Hi Ewemon-
I'll rise to the bait. What release are you referring to when you say " The album with the skulls is The Grateful Dead 7cd set limited to 1000 copies worldwide." Is this a British LP release? What material is covered on the set? Inquiring minds want to know.
Thanks,
Bruce

It is the album cover under the Sea Level title.
Apparently it is from a 1988 gig.

Hi Ewemon,
Thanks for your detailed update. This looks to be a grey zone release: not from the Dead's own tapes. 1988 is a not a year that has been extensively covered in their official releases, and it isn't my favorite era for the band, for what it is worth. They put very little emphasis on jamming in the 87-88 shows, but you do typically get very strong, full band rocking performances of what they did play. I don't know those shows at all.
If you are curious about this era, probably the best releases for this era which are widely available come from '89 and '90 which have been extensively mined in the context of the Dead's archival release programs on titles such as "Nightfall of Diamonds"; "Crimson, White and Indigo", and the numerous releases from the spring of 1990 tour such as the excellent "Dozin' At the Knick" collection taken from Albany shows and the famous show with Branford Marsalis they released as "Wake Up to Find Out".
Good listening,
Bruce

Emil Giles, everything worth listening, including all his recordings then he was old, independent tha fact that he wasn't capable to play everything. Prefer him a lot above Richter.

Also got the enjoyable information that a new 5 cd box of solo concerts of Keith Jarrett from 1996 in Italy is going to come out in October. It's clear that I very much look forward to this...
The albums of Coldplay are coming in 24 bit. Depending on what they did with it, interesting or perhaps not...
Wilco 10th studio album 'Schmilco' out Sept. Great news, probably my favourite and most reliably excellent band. First track is on the website.
