The album with the Peace sign/fingers is The Stone Temple Pilots. There is also a new Steve Hackett album in June called "Out of the Tunnel's Mouth"

There is a lot of jazz due out on various labels such as ECM within the next few weeks.

Looking forward to it and all on order Winker

A lot of rereleases there as well. Good to see the Haden and Rava box sets as these albums have been out of print now for a few years.

Some really nice stuff!

Here's a good one you missed Ewen Winker

Enrico Pieranunzi. On of my fave jazz albums in this box - Seaward. Problem with these boxes - Rava, Haden and this one is that I have most of the albums already but am missing the odd one or two from each box.

Did see it but wasn't sure if anyone had heard of him of course I should have known better.

Check him out Ewen - I think you would appreciate him - try his albums Trasnoche and Untold Story on spotify, one of many excellent outings. A wonderful pianist - I have about 25 of his albums. He used to be posted a lot a few years ago on my old id and by Haim etc. Saw him once in a small smart hotel in Paris, loverly.

Wow, lots of good stuff coming up. I really like the look of those Soul Note box sets, and the Brederode/Sokal CD. Anyone care to comment on the Haden Montreal Tapes - what's the story behind this music, and does it merit the deluxe treatment?

Nigel - the Brederode does look interesting but the two albums from the lot above that I have highest hopes for are the Food and Bjornstad albums. From what I have heard so far they look and sound very good.

As for Haden, I think this release, for me, is a disappointment. Haden appeared at the 1989 Montreal Jazz Festival every night for ,I think, 9 nights with a different band. Six of the albums got released over time and some are now out of print.

I would have hoped that this box would have been the complete Montreal series, including the three unreleased discs - for instance his show with Pat Metheny has never been released and long anticipated by me Confused

Anyway the other discs are worth a listen with artists such as Joe Henderson, Paul Bley, Geri Allen,Paul Motian, Liberation Orchestra, Rubalcaba etc.

I think one of the nine shows that will be unlikely to be in this box got released on ECM as In Montreal with Egberto Gismonti.

I will not be buying this box as I already have the six Montreal Tapes releases.

Thanks Adrian. It's still of interest to me, as I don't have the original issues, but I'll not make it a priority purchase.
