I'll start the ball rolling...

Pre-ordered on the river.
Me too. CD, not vinyl, though. It promises to be pretty dark, even by Nick's standards. My wife just hates NCaTBS, so I'll only be listening when she's out.

I heard vol. 69 is very rare. I don't know which position it reached in the charts.

"Aidan and Malcolm have compiled a double album of Arab Strap 'secret hits and rarities' to celebrate their 20th anniversary. Reflecting on a 10 year career that was as influential as it was controversial, the compilation highlights an extraordinary output that staunchly refused to conform to expectation. From the string-led sashay of 'Shy Retirer' to the piano-driven noir of 'Love Detective'; the lo-fi crunch of 'The Clearing' to the spartan electronica of 'Rocket, Take Your Turn', Arab Strap were a fearless and resolutely original proposition from the minute Aidan regaled us with tales of their 'First Big Weekend' back in 1996." ~ The blurb
Have seen this live at North Sea Jazz years ago. Very excited to see this now coming out as a recording by the end of October....

Yes, finally Perahia has signed to the DG.
Seems that they will be the last big player in classical music.
(21st October)
More details here on their website.

Imagine the discussion in the board room:
- "Murray haz decided to join us and agreed to re-record a chunk of his core repertory starting wiz Bach - what do you zink?"
-"Vat's the title of his album? "
-"Bach Ze french sweets"
-"Cool name - zis will do well in our grows markets. Drop ze Bach."

Wish Perahia all the best and definitely buy this album because he remains a brilliant pianist. But DG / Universal will have to put in some real effort before I would consider them back in the game.
Cheers
EJ

I saw the announcement from DG.
Perahia has been with Sony/Columbia for the longest time and has recorded many great performances at his prime.
I wonder who dropped who?

If you click on any track it states the recording date as July 2013. Is this an error? How could someone at DG not see this obvious error for the first album of a newly signed artist??
Just a reminder that this is due at the end of the month, ...............go on, give your speakers a workout!
Hate that I have most of it, but not all......
