Finally! Coming in August in vinyl:
Joe Jackson: Another World ( summer in the city )

A terrific live album. If you haven't heard it, give it a try. One of the great catchy intro (ok maybe not as good as Little Feat's Waiting for Columbus intro but equally addictive)

Been looking for this vinyl release for about 10 years now. It's remastered by Kevin Gray, so I have high hopes.

It's in Tidal, after I finish with  what I'm streaming now I will give it a try. Good for you to find it after a very long time.

Must be in the air - I just listened to this yesterday. This is an excellent album with only a 3-piece band, but his versions of Another World (killer Graham Maby bass solo) and The In Crowd/Down to London are absolutely top shelf on this album.

Just saw him live on Tuesday at a nice venue up in Greensboro, NC.

Yes. I actually prefer this live version of Another World than the original release. Nice to know he's still touring.

Looks like a beautiful venue.

Erich,

A good thing about this vinyl revival is that there are more new reissues and releases are coming out than 10 years ago. In some instances, keeping the original pressings at more sane prices. ( like Ben Folds Five's self titled album at one point was going for a few hundred bucks. But now it's been devalued since the reissue came out in 2011.)

This Joe Jackson Live in New York, however, has never been on vinyl.

It really was nice Kuma - I was sitting row M almost dead center; just a couple of rows ahead of the balcony. I was actually impressed with the whole town of Greensboro - at least the downtown area was nice, new and clean. And it is about equidistant from both Charlotte and Raleigh, so you can get to bigger city stuff in a reasonable amount of time...although at 280K+ population it is a decent size on its own.

Here are the photos I took there:

I would love to have taken a shot of the band playing, but they were pretty pointed in pre-show announcements about tossing folks who did, and I didn't want to test them on that...LED screens show up pretty well in a dark theater.

Where I live there is a limited offering of Vinyls in the stores. So when there is something I really want to have I have to import it (Expensive due to shipping & duties). In a few weeks I'm flying to Europe and will go with a short list.

Taking advantage of the revival of vinyl I have replaced some I had since I was a teenager that were in very bad conditions  and also buy some I wanted to have since long time.

Legendary pianist Evgeny Kissin is set to release his first solo recital recording in more than a decade this August, after signing an exclusive contract with Deutsche Grammophon. The double-disc set will document Kissin’s evolving relationship with Beethoven in a series of personally curated live recordings.

The album will include Beethoven’s Moonlight, Appassionata and Les Adieux piano sonatas, as well as the Variations in C minor, WoO 80, and Piano Sonata No 32.

Making his mark as a teen prodigy in Russia in the 1980s, Kissin is renowned for his visionary performances of Romantic masterworks. His previous recordings with Deutsche Grammophon include landmark collaborations with the Berlin Philharmonic, Herbert von Karajan and Claudio Abbado.

A single LP mastered for vinyl direct from the analog tapes by Gillian Welch and David Rawlings on their own custom-built VMS 80 lathe with Ortofon amplifiers, this pressing of David Rawlings' Poor David's Almanack is the first new album on Acony to come out on vinyl simultaneously.
