Natalie Prass - The Future and the Past - ATO Records - 1st June 2018

Erren Fleissig Schöttler Steffen

There’s a new album coming from these fine purveyors of modern Berlin School electronica. This from their Facebook page:

Mastering: done
Album title: done
Track titles: in progress
Artwork: to do

Probably only me and Steve excited about this but...

New Ladyton LP. Apparently coming out in the autumn. I found out they are on pledgemusic and I pre-ordered a signed CD. Never heard of this pledgemusic thing before but it looks like a good idea - buy direct from the artist and support them.

It can be, and I’ve done a few and it’s been fine. However, I subscribed to Jaz Coleman’s project to record a symphonic Killing Joke album over two years ago and he hasn’t got round to doing it yet!

This is good news, Nick. I'd given up on them making a new album, wondering if it will be another in the Ouddorp series.

You are Steve are not alone! I am also interested to hear of new stuff from these guys as love the sound that they make. Also have a bizarre connection as Ouddorp is where I go every two years for the Marillion weekend.

There will probably be loads of out-takes and other bits but, for me, there is only way to listen to this album: original vinyl and in mono!

Normally I don't get excited about RSD releases, but this is a genuine coup - Bobbie Gentry Live At The BBC.

From the blurb:

This LP is sure to be highly collectable for fans. No BBC material featuring Bobbie has ever been released (and only Ode to Billie Joe has leaked on YouTube as it featured in a BBC doc about songwriters) so these recordings are completely unfamiliar to fans.

Side 1: (1) “Mississippi Delta”, (2) “Papa Won’t Let Me Go To Town With You”, (3) “I saw An Angel Die”, (4) “Ode To Billie Joe”, (5) “Mornin Glory”, (6) “Ace Insurance Man”

Side 2: (1) “Niki Hokey/ Barefootin”, (2) “Penduli Pendulum”, (3) “Recollection”, (4) “Sweet Peony”, (5) “Greyhound Going Somewhere”

Here's the cover of the BG LP. I really cannot wait:
