Double LP on 200gm. vinyl.

If the image isn't clear it's this.

This hard to find / expensive CD which has never been released on vinyl. Has now been reissued by Music on Vinyl and can be pre-ordered from Amazon for release on 15.04.13.

Dan Penn is truly one of the greats of American music. He is mostly known for writing classics such as "Do Right Woman' by Aretha Franklin, "I'm Your Puppet" by James and Bobby Purify, Wilson Pickett's /Otis Redding's "You Left Your Water Running" and many more. If the Vinyl is as good SQ as the 1994 CD it will be well worth having.

That's a good spot. I have this cd and it's a goody.

Mind  you I actually prefer the "Moments from this Theatre "cd with Spooner Oldham. That is pure magic. Don't expect it any time soon on vinyl!

New Peter Murphy album coming this Fall and heard rough cuts at the concert last night before he took the stage, sounded VERY promising.

Keith Jarrett's trio with Gary Peacock and Jack DeJohnette is one of the longest extant ensembles in jazz history and has released a lot of albums, mostly live recordings. All the albums are first-rate, many are sublime, and more than a few are masterpieces for the ages.

Their newest, Somewhere, is due to be released in the USA next week and while I typically go for any of their albums, I'm particularly looking forward to this one because I've never heard them cover any of Leonard Bernstein's music from West Side Story; here they cover two songs: Somewhere, of course, and Tonight.

Further, a jazz journalist friend of mine whose opinion I trust implicitly says it's one of their very best, possibly even their best since Still Live from 1986, an album some consider to be their finest until now.

My ears are salivating!

Hi Fred,

You will not be dissapointed. This is a real good album. The first song needed some getting used to for me. But after a couple of spins it's very good. Somewhere is heaven..

Frank Zappa's Roxy by Proxy CD is out 20/9/13. 80 minutes of 'master-tape' live recording from the Roxy and Elsewhere shows. $22 from the zappa website on pre-order. One of his composed pieces is about to go out live now on the UK's Radio 3, part of the BBC proms.

Cheers John

Thanks for the recommendation, Simon.  It's got to be the one of the albums of the year!
