Some more info for you. This is supposed to be an album of covers of Billie Holiday tunes.

No he is one of the better pianist I only have one CD, the scarlatti album. So now having the ability to get a complete collection is a great option.

Out tomorrow in the UK. Dylan sings the Great American Songbook or something like that. Should be interesting if nothing else.

The Amazing Bud Powell: The Scene Changes & Hank Mobley 'Workout'.

Music Matters is coming out with 18 more titles the rest of this year but these two are the ones I am most interested in. Particularly I am curious to see what they could do with Bud Powell's piano sound.

I like Bud Powell's playing, but could do without the groans and grunts!

That's what I used to say about Monica Seles.

I see.

For sure Gould isn't for you, either then.

That's some great footage Kuma, especially with the seagulls and yawning dog. I just wish he'd have slammed the cover closed on the keyboard when he was done. I was fully expecting it.

The Weepies

"Sirens"

US release (and tour) expected late April.  It has been quite a while since they have been musically active as they started a family and Deb battled breast cancer.  Will be great to have some new music from them and to have an opportunity to support them live.

Well, the photo link for the Weepies didn't last long.

Here is a link to a Billboard Magazine announcement.

Just got an e-mail about the new Villagers album, out in March. "Darling Arithmetic" (?)

Ordered on ltd vinyl.

If it's half as good as either 'Becoming a Jackal' or 'Awayland', then I'll not be disappointed.

I'm not sure whether this is a band, or really just Conor O'Brien with a few other musicians (I suspect it's the latter), but it doesn't really matter - he is a very good songwriter, dark lyricist and distinctive singer.
