What was the last vinyl you bought?
Posted by: apye! on 18 January 2011
Arrived today in the post:
It's the original UK issue mid '80s thin vinyl pressing. John Dent/Sound Clinic cut.
The Corellis are the early ones - type SP1051.
I have a few copies of the original thin LP and the doubles.
Bought a copy of this 180gm just after it was released late one night when the price dropped for half an hour for £13 because i liked the colours and being a bit of a BM completist.
It sounds very good.
It started off at £112, Its now £67 on the river so took a punt.
Hand Numbered limited to 3000 only.
Eva's version of WKWTTG is a classic. Not as good as Sandy's (natch), but great, nonetheless. I saw Richard Thompson do the song in concert a while back. Also a treat. (And welcome back, Stu)
I Pre-ordered this months ago
Mainly for the live Hammersmith concert tracks because I was there.
The thing that gets me is?
They were on the Crisis ? what Crisis tour in 1975 so its the Crime of the Century tracks recorded at that concert after they had played Crisis ? what Crisis from beginning to end.
Joan Armatrading was the back up band.
Winky,
Cheers man.
I really wish this was part of the vinyl collection ?
Its still my most played E.C. album.
Its hard to better a on form Richard Thompson live?
Trying to see what his fingers are doing still leaves me spellbound.
> Not as good as Sandy
Nobody is as a good as Sandy was as a singer/songwriter
So it is no disgrace not to match the best there's ever been
That goes without saying.
Sandy was unique a true one off.
That said,
TG did a nice album of her songs when asked by her estate.
It never made it on to vinyl though.
Ordered these two a few weeks ago from Germany.
Both albums can still be had for £14 each on the river.
They turned up today.
Grabbed this vinyl for just over 5 squid new yesterday.
Double vinyl £11 on the river.Ordered this double vinyl at the same time for £9.99 because i only have it on CD.
I had some good news last night. Pete, my friend who had the vinyl stall in Watford Market before it closed, called to ask if I would give him a character reference for a lease on a shop in Market Street. It's great he's found somewhere and hopefully his new venture will be successful.
Bought this for my 80 year Dad from a church sale because I wrecked his mono copy when I was a kid.

Sounds like good news, please wish him well with his new project.

Steve,
Good news man.
How big is the new shop?
If it's in Market St then it will be average size. I haven't seen it yet.
Awesome Mix Vol 1 (Guardians of the Galaxy): (yes, really, on vinyl!) now transferring to cassette for true awesomeness in the Hall of the fallen.
Brandi Carlile's fifth studio album, The Firewatcher's Daughter, was announced today. I preordered the 2LP vinyl for $20 via her website. Due to ship in early March. Looking forward to its arrival, just in time for Spring.
The river were selling this excellent LP for £7 inc p&p for a hour last weekend.
Bargain.
