I have this already but it is not in good shape so I thought it is time to replace it. Besides, it lent to an interesting conversation with my son which took an hour (or is it a hour?)
Doug,
What would be interesting is to compare with the *uncorrected* release Sony released a few years back.
Do you have that box set?
I am curious to see what you think of this Speakers Corner reissue in terms of sound, too.
145 minutes of music on this box set from Neil, including a 19:26 rendition of Tonight's The Night.
Some Johnny Lyndon to round things off
This one, I am afraid...
Got it Friday, hadn't got round to listening to it, an oversight which will be corrected shortly:
Blackstar. Ordered it on Friday before the rush.
This about 1hr ago....
This box set

I already have all those LPs on vinyl (none first press though) Nigel - is it still worth getting?
My copy of Blackstar arrived this morning. 10 minutes later I heard the sad news. I am too upset to play it at the moment.
The box set is worth it for the Ziggy LP alone, it's the same 40th anniversary edition cut, 100% analog, amazing sound and long out of print

VG - good news! My accountant has just informed me what my tax bill will be at the end of this month and it's a fair bit lower than I'd been expecting. Might have to put in a cheeky little order for this set to celebrate...
Traffic. Original UA vinyl.
Gerry Rafferty. Can I have My Money Back? ABC Blue Thumb vinyl
Hi Kevin-W
I'd only just ordered it when I posted, so unfortunately it hasn't arrived yet - hopefully it'll be here at the weekend. Read a few reviews of it and the SQ is supposed to be good, so I'm looking forward to listening. I'll try and let you know once I've heard it.
Best wishes, Nigel
Pearl Jam 'Ten'
A question to those who have purchased Blackstar on vinyl: how is the record packaged? Surely that's not the playing surface which is visible through the star cutout in the outer sleeve.

Bought the 24/88 remastered version which has a lot of upfront hi-frequency playback (jangly moments pushed more to the front). I read that the original mix was done in a rush for commercial timing reasons and the re-master more considered and a time to review it, but I find the redux version too much, as though the original quick thinking actually ended up with a better result and the longer time remastering resulted in too much tinkering and a poorer overall result. How is the vinyl playing back replay wise in your opinion?
Also not sure why I have written this on vinyl you bought thread. I guess just wondering on the vinyl playback v that digital remaster.

The vinyl LP comes inside a special thick plastic sleeve that goes inside the gatefold cover
