What's the SQ like on these latest reissues please guys?
Also are they nice n' flat, had so much warped vinyl recently!
Thanks,
Andy.
Having work done on the flat currently Andy, so the LP12 is hidden under dust sheets - should be able to give them a listen by the weekend...
Thanks Kevin.
Andy,
Earlier this year i purchased the first four of the 2016 vinyl reissues Piper, Saucerful, More, Ummagumma.
The SQ could be described as sort of okay in that it's inoffensive, warm and coherent, but it has to be said these issues have had the musical sparkle sucked out of the recordings by this version of remastering process. The SQ never rises about being as being anything but dull as dishwater.
The Discover CD box-set has a far superior Sonic Q in that they are more musically engaging and easier to enjoy with foot taping sparkle musical life and soul back in bucket loads.
I sent my 2016 vinyl Pink Flop reissues back for refund, and glad i did so : )

I've loved all the 2016 Pink Floyd vinyl, I think they sound clean and crisp. I'd say their sound over all is true and instrumental, and remains that way as the volume goes higher. Its understandable how some may find it flat sounding, but I hear more piano and instrument separation. Guitars sound real, drums and pace are great.
Can barely stand the sound of CDs and digital music anymore, it has a specific dead feel to me, even though its often juiced up aurally. No matter how much the bolster the digital music though, its still lacking a true instrumental feel--doesn't feel natural and real to me. Digital may be warm and sparkly, but its not true to my hearing.
Just grabbed these at Ricordi store in Milan
Eu 2016 reissues
2007 Rhino reissue

13-LP box set of the Dame's fabulous coke-fuelled mid-70s era:
Brahms: Antje Weithaas (violin)
This was a recommendation from Brian @The Analog Room in San Jose. Sun Records singles. 3 LPs. It sounds amazing if you like mono. Real and raw. You need to own this on analog.
Radiogead, A Moon Shaped Pool - deluxe 2 x LP and 2 x CD:
Opeth - Pale Communion
Machinedrum - Human Energy
Tharaud plays Rachmaninov - pre-order
Schumann: Ingrid Fliter (piano)
Brahms: Emil Gilels (piano)
Sinatra at The Sands, from the Sinatra 100 reissues. Already got it on CD, but now also on vinyl.
New Order, People On The High Line 12" single on white vinyl:
