Arrived today in the post:
Goldfrapp - Silver Eye (Limited Edition Clear Vinyl)
Due out end of March.
Sometimes the vinyl version it is not special, it is cut from digital, mastered from cd copy, do you think makes a difference to buy vinyl copy, I wish everybody here commented little bit about the quality of the record, pressing, master etc

Yes, a lot of modern/new recordings may be from a digital source - but the thing is - it seems the majority of (new) rock/pop releases on cd/digital are brickwalled with next to no dynamic range.
Vinyl cannot be brickwalled as the format would be unplayable (the stylus would jump out the groove), & although poor eq'ing could spoil the sound quality, it too is somewhat restricted by the formats limitations.
This gives anybody interested in said modern recordings at least half a chance of getting a better sound than the harsh, brickwalled cds.
I would say that the vinyls that suffer are the reissues from digital transfers. They seem to loose the warmth of the original issues.
I find this to be the case in pop stuff starting around 1982...also country/western music on vinyl in the 80s was often from digital.

I listened David bowie black star cd vs vinyl, did not find anything extra at all other than inconvenience of vinly but good feeling of the object
New pressing clean vinly was clear sounding as the digital so that is impressive as well
Great album, I will miss him

It was still sealed! My son and I had a rock out session, 1982 style.
Stopped by a local half price shop and browsed their wares....most of the stuff varied from unplayed looking with a bit of dust to some abrasions or 1 or 2 single minor scratches. Some of the covers are not great, but some look new. $65.60
9 records, with at least one double LP, and a brand new sealed record...vinyl is so expensive!

Just ordered the new version from Analog Productions. I had the Classic Records version. This should compare favorably I hope. It should really sing with the Kleos SL.
Deluxe edition.
Surfer Blood - Snowdonia After a foot of snow today a most appropriate arrival.
Over 60 year old recording, remasterd 2012 by MFSL - excellend pressing and superb music.
Listen to "Jeeps Blues" - awesome...
Had to go out this morning for a picture frame so it would have been rude to walk past HMV, came out with:
David Bowie at the Tower Philadelphia
Ozawa/BSO & Zimerman:
Rachmaninov: Piano Concertos Nos. 1 & 2
...and this.
Rattle/Berliner & Zimerman
Brahms Piano Concerto No.1
I have this on CD and it is one of my favourite Brahms 1 both for sonics and performance.

Me too. I ordered tonight. Looking forward to preserving my well-played original.
Me too got mine when it was still 19.99 instead of the 36.99 (?????) now quoted. An exceptional return to form IMO containing some truly exceptional songs.
Rush 2112 live, limited addition on weird colour vinyl. bought from my local dealer for all of 14 quid which is well below half the price it's available on line. More like a well recorded bootleg from a single gig in 1980 which the whole of 2112 on side 1 and Xanadu on side 2. Side 2 is superb.
