Karl Böhm/Berlin Phil: Mozart Late Symphonies No.25-41 ( good bits )

I am quite partial to Böhm's Mozart Symphonies with Berlin Phil. Found a mint UK Box Set today.

Rubenstein/Krips: Schumann Piano Concerto in A Minor

Still looking for the perfect Op.54.

Mine came with a CD inside! Now I have it both ways: vinyl and the ripped CD on my server... And it cost a mere €25, little more than the CD alone.

Some how the picture is missing: I meant Leonard Cohen's Old Ideas...

Two by Richter: Schubert Sonata & Schumann. This Angel version of his Italian concert is said to sound better than the DG version. Different venue, different program but the same tour.

Josef Krips' Mozart Late Symphonies. I'm still on the Mozart kicks.

Hi Matt,

Just played side 1 and it was a great first listen. Only discovered Sharon this weekend and it's been a great find. The gatefold is possibly the thickest I've ever bought. I love her spirit as a musician, where Sharon recommends listening to about 20 other artists in the sleeve notes. I'm going to see her in London in May, the night after Steven Wilson. That should be a great week for 'live' music, as I finish it off with seeing James Grant (from Love & Money - http://jamesgrantsongbook.com/category/videos/).

Well if it helps to know your posts are appreciated naim_nymph (forgive me if I have already mentioned this elsewhere) - thanks for your tip on Weather Report Live in Berlin 1975.

Never knew of it until you posted and am now a happy owner.

Hope you wake up less grumpy.

And thanks

David

Thank you for your kind words, David.

I'll just say my new EMI re-issue remaster of ELO's debut album looks very well made.

The cover looks just like the original, the record however came with a free static charge and in a not so cool cardboard inner-sleeve... but i've cleaned the vinyl now, and placed it lovenly in a new poly-paper inner-sleeve : )

Purchased from jpc Germany for €18.99

It's a queer sort of music imo, i could understand people who say they don't like it but to me it's a very imaginative blend of tradition classical style, and folk all melodiously morphed into some very original prog-rock.

Perhaps not as polished as Eldorado this debut album i enjoy hearing more often.

Will play it later : )

Just listening to the new Leonard Cohen for the first time. Comes with the cd as well, but the vinyl really does sound something special.

Today's purchase  - some nice jazz funk/soul jazz from early 70's.

I was chuffed to grab this for a couple of quid in Oxfam yesterday - very rarely see any John Cooper Clarke LPs when out browsing and this has perhaps his best track Beasley Street. Apparently BBC4 are going to show a documentary about his life in the Spring.
