Finally found a mint 6 Eye stereo at Reckless. Stravinsky conducting his own Firebird. There's a magical feel to it and I love his frantic finale.

Debs,
A right result on the amazon price front.
What do they it sound like?
Stu.
Stu,
not only have i got them out of the wrapper already...!
but i've given them a good clean to remove the slight static,
and can confirm they are very-flat and look lovely-perfect.

Music on Vinyl is my favourite modern record label ... the guys are fantastic
Kempff/Leitner's No.1 Piano Concerto.
An impulse buy but I love the album cover.
LOL ! He looks like he's being lined up for a police mug shot !
I know!
This one looks like he just came out of a jail. He's got that *overnight* look to him.

You should grap a copy of the triple vinyl box set while you can at £22.
It will be silly money in a few months time.

Except for the fact that (in Spirit of Eden's case at least) a Mitsubishi pro digi 32 track digital recorder was used in the making of the album and this has a sampling rate of 44.1 kHz so a true 96//24 is almost an impossibility.
Just checked the DVD sleeve, You are right they did indeed use a Mitsubishi Pro Digi 32, so does that mean the sound quality will be rubbish?

The SQ won't be rubbish, but because the 44.1khz sampling rate was introduced in the recording process at the overdub stage it will limit the potential of any reproduction made from the original master - so all pressings and formats of this album have this limitation.
The only way to get around this would be to go back to the original multi-tracks of the album and effectively recreate it from there but that in itself would be problematic and something that niether EMI or the band would be inclined to do.
Andy, what is it like?
Cheers,
Andy.
