What was the last vinyl you bought?
Posted by: apye! on 18 January 2011
Arrived today in the post:
OK Don't laugh but I was a massive Frankie Goes To Hollywood fan back in the mid 80's collecting all their vinyl from around the world, ended up with a great collection which I still have, anyway I was reading a hifi mag last night and noticed that they have released a new CD box set which I ordered instantly but also noticed that a 12" version of Relax was released last month to commemorate its 30 year anniversary so ordered that also, apparently it has got a rare mix of Relax on it that was only re-discovered a couple of years ago in the ZTT vaults after it was labelled wrong.
This is the 2nd 12" I've bought in the last months, got Embraces new single on 12", lets hope we get a resurgence in 12's like we had in the 80's, loved some of the extended mixes
Hi, those of you who have the vinyl version of Max Richter - Memoryhouse can you tell me what the quality of the vinyl is like. I have read a number of reviews that claim their copies were more "crackle and pop" than music. I would much rather get this on vinyl than CD but not of the pressing is too poor.
thanks
Paul

SQ isn't briliant. The instrumental sections are reasonably good but Plant's vocals sound very distant. Never mind it didn't cost much.

I drew a blank at the market today Steve. At least I have a number of 'new' LPs coming in the post including the MOFI 45rpm Highway 61 Revisited and The Times They Are A'Changin.
Enjoy your new acquisitions, I wish I lived nearer.
