After sending the first copy of The Endless River (Vinyl) back, as the packaging was badly dented and LP1 very warped, this is how Amazon thought they would send the replacement!

No packaging at all!!

Needless to say I am not a happy bunny!!

Hi G

Not played the vinyl yet as I still haven't got round to getting the LP12 seen to but I've played the CD and Blu-ray a few times. I am a bit puzzled by it to be quite honest. Some of it is undeniably lovely, and of course it sounds very Floydian, but a couple of the tracks are terrible (Anisina is particularly horrible) and as a lyricist Mrs Gilmour is no Mr Waters. Also, it has a weird, rather disconnected feel about it - a lot of it doesn't seem to hang together. That said, I think Side One is very good.

The SQ is stupendous, obviously.

I happened to come across her 'Dont know why'  for the first time and liked it.

26 million copies are sold.

Will see if the rest of the album live up it.

Yesterday I bought this, David Bowie's new single on 10" vinyl. It's very jazzy, very Scott Walker. I LOVE it - best thing he's done for yonks. Love the packaging too:

Bowie - Sue [Or In A Season Of Crime) B&W

Kevin I just got this on weekend and played it today. Very different. Have you heard Dylan Howe's re interpretations of Bowie's Low/Heroes instrumentals? It's called Subterraneans and its all in a very jazz style. If you like it they are playing at Purcell rooms at Southbank next February.

12" single bought from a secondhand shop recently for a couple of pounds, plays surprisingly well, has an interesting remix, and after looking it up on discogs it turns out to be a US promo issue.

Prem, glad you like the Bowie, I absolutely LOVE it.

The "Subterranean" album I know very well - in fact it is my favourite jazz album of this year and I play it a lot. And I am going to see him in February!

Excellent me too. I will see you there. My mate has booked tickets I think in front row. I will wear a grey bowie self portrait heroes t-shirt so you recognise me.
