What Cars do people own?

My daily driver is a '62 Lincoln Continental Convertible (aka a "Kennedy Lincoln"). The second is a '59 Austin Healey Sprite. I believe that it weighs all of 1300 lbs. wet and could probably fit in the trunk of my Lincoln (5250 lbs.). Unfortunately, the Healey is all torn appart at present. I need to rebuild the old A Series shortblock.

My present car is a silver 1997 Saab 900 SE Turbo. Have only done 85.000 km, so I plan to keep it another five years. It's a great car for travelling, comfortable, lots of space in the boot and enough power to overtake at any moment and race uphill in the Ardennes. Handling in tight curves is not so good, but I've gotten used to it. The car came with full spec. One of the accessories which turned out very useful is the cruise control: everytime I'm in Holland on the A2 where they control your speed all the time, I just put the cruise control at the allowed speed and there's no problem. On longer journeys it's also very practical.
I saw some pictures of the new Saab 9-3. Incredible that they decided not to do a Hatchback version. I can't imagine many Saab 900 drivers going for a saloon version, they'll probably wait for the Estate/Break.

P.S. My previous car was a 1983 Opel Kadett. Was not so bad.

My P&J is a japanese imported MITSUBISHI FTO GPX. It has a luvverly V6 2.0L engine and the smartest variable valve timing system called MIVEC which is better than the Honda v-tec system IMHO.It also has a super intelligent tiptronic gearbox. It won japanese car of the year 94 &95 and is very rare on the uk roads. I get head turns where ever i go.A stunning silver coupe on sale now in a padded cell forum near you. wife forgot to take pill-gutted!

Oh, yeah? Well I have a 1991 Honda Accord with only 128k, cracked windshield, rusted A-pipe and muffler, and leaky oil pan gasket. It also has a super slick 5-speed. I get head turns too- the exhaust is kinda loud. It's a stunning champagne coupe and I paid $1900 for it. Read it and weep, gearheads!

Previously... 2000 Honda Accord, 1995 Honda Civic, 1991 3-door from that other "H" company.

Next... New Acura TSX, Acura RSX, or Honda Accord, or fix my car and drive it 10 more years (most likely).

New Audi A3 2.0Tdi bit too soon to tell till I can turn it up to 11, but so far - torque of the devil. 55+mpg ace hifi as well.

OK mostly practical rather than posing, except the Range Rover. But it still went from A to B and back again, safely and reliably.

currently, Volvo S80 2.4. since june 2002.
prior to that, bmw 520i SE. initial change to volvo was a real "culture shock". very different drive. feels "loose". drive feedback not very apparent, so there is a little "disconnect" while driving.

however, i am getting used to it now, and i have come to enjoy its advantages. plenty of room at the back for my daughters double bass, through the boot. long distance drive OK. consumption so so. very stable -- manages to drive through deep puddles without losing it.

it will be interesting whether i decide to keep with volvo or go back to bmw next time i change...

No. Finally landed a red 968 Lux in March. Upped the budget and got a mint one with 55k on the clock and FPSH. Go's very nicely indeed but is inclined to be a wan*er magnet which pees me off somewhat.
Wiltshire police took a nice picture of it recently as well...

I have a Jeep Grand Cherokee for normal day to day driving and then I have a Toyota Supra for the weekend driving.

I get plenty of comfort and luxury with the jeep and plenty of excitement with the Supra.

How's that working out for you? The idea is interesting, but not having ridden one, I wonder how it feels. I love my Marin, but I can get the reasons why people liked things like the old GT RTS. It seems like this is locked until you take a sufficiently big hit. Is that right?

Ask me in a couple of weeks as I only picked the bike up about 2 hours ago...

I test rode one last weekend and it was quite impressive. It's got a lockout fork and the rear does feel like a hardtail when climbing.

Mine is a somewhat antiquish (mid 70's) Legnano road bike that still is used for about 30km+ per day weather permiting.
