I now run my HDX since 5 days and it is getting better day by day. Installing it and integration in the network is plug and play. Up to now I used it with its inbuilt HD and USB sticks containing hi resolution files.
It is a great product and a joy operating it and listen to it. My CDX 2 will be sold in the very near future since I prefer the HDX soundwise when it comes to play my CD collection.
If the HDX is employed as I suspect it was intended, then no doubt it works perfectly well!
Thanks for a sane post on the subject!
After that the only consideration is price versus performance compared to other HD solutions, and that will only be well assessed for each individual by properly auditioning of the options.

I did.
Liked the UI very much.
If I could use it, anybody can.
A nice job.

The HDX white paper states that when connected to an external power supply (e.g. XPS), the internal toroidal transformer continues to be used to control the microprocessor circuits. Can someone tell me if this is also true of the CDX2?

jon- I would expect nothing less from you, thanks for your valuable input as always!
pmr- no sorry, as they say you really have to hear this, the other stuff is just noise to me. Ethernet plumbing is one thing music is another.
We are not stopping our cd research or any of the other source directions this is just a fast growing sector we cannot afford to ignore. I understand your point about cd players.
kuma-well done and thanks
sorry for the quick note still on the road.
