Football Season 2017/18

As requested by Steve (Paper Plane) on the 16/17 thread, here's a new one for 2017/18. All leagues/divisions welcome.
Come on you Irons!

We have been going well in the league but not a good afternoon to have both our central defenders out (one injured, one sent off last week - very contentious but will try & let it go). So maybe Rafa will be over confident & take it for granted but come on you hatters!....if it goes bad I am hoping that it is not too bad. But....we could do it....
I wish good luck to the Hatters, Paul. I know one or two passionate Luton fans. TV is reporting that 8000 of them have travelled to St James for today's cup-tie. Very impressive for almost any club but especially for one from League Two.

thanks! looks like we will need it, watching live text & 2-0 down already so mountain to climb and we don't seem to have created much
make that 3-0, wasn't typing quick enough
3-1 defeat but honour intact after a much better second half. Really bad choice of playing Mpanzu in such a big game cost us.
Well rather unsurprisingly Stoke have sacked Hughes this evening. I suppose the growing unrest among the fans made it inevitable that the board would act. Not obvious who the likely replacements might be.
Sad to hear today that former Liverpool and Scotland goalkeeper Tommy Lawrence has died at the age of 77. He was affectionately known to fans as “the flying pig” on account of his agility despite his heavy build and was a mainstay of the Livrrpool team of the 60s until being replaced by Ray Clemence.
R.I.P. Tommy.
Anyone have any Hotel recommendations near the New Spurs Stadium? My beloved (American)Football team will be playing at the new stadium next fall.

Tottenham's stadium is located in one of the least attractive areas of London. The place is a dump. You'd be better off staying somewhere else, unless you have a hankering for kebab shops.
I hope there is a Metro(underground) stop near the stadium. I take it the new Stadium is there to help make the area better over time..
Well, that's the Toffes given good chewing...

Excellent game Paper Plane. My first visit to see Spurs play at Wembley.
Dire first half, but that was a great demolition of the Terriers yesterday. Arnie and Lanz look like a great partnership and Moyes is doing really well. Eating humble pie and rather enjoying it!
Yeah great result Kev yesterday.I think The Hammers will be fine this season.Watching Liverpool - City at the moment and we are 1-0 down......hope we can turn it around.....Stirling is not getting much love from the Reds !
Pleased to see the Cherries get a much needed win today. As for the Gunners, a champions league slot looks a forlorn hope at the moment.
Listened to the radio commentary of the Liverpool/Man City game this afternoon. Very exciting and a credit to the PL. I don't think it will affect City taking the title but it will be interesting to see how they respond to a first defeat. Liverpool under Klopp are an entertaining side to watch these days.
Cracking game Liverpool - City.Liverpool deserved it.Thought Stones let us down.Think we will be back to winning ways with Newcastle.
Shocked at the Arsenal result with Bournemouth - wasn't expecting that !
Yes, great Cherries result.
Meanwhile Saints' woes continue with a 2-2 after having been two up at half-time.
My understanding is that the club is now 80% owned by Mr Gao and 20% by Katharina Liebherr. Mr Gao bought the 80% from Ms Liebherr, who has formed a great friendship with his daughter, Nellie. How Mr Gao must wish that Nellie just wanted a pony like the other girls.
From the 'Fan Matrix' in today's i paper, WHU fan Joe Light wrote, "After [we] terrier-ised Huddersfield Town on the road last weekend, it's time to pop the Cherries this weekend".
Thought you might enjoy that Kev.
Saints fan Nick Roberts fears a "Kane Bloodbath". He's not alone.

Wish your Saints Good luck with Spurs this afternoon. Its going to be tough as Erickson - Song - Deli are all capable of scoring as well as Kane.Enjoy if your going.
Nice City win against Newcastle and it was good to see Burnley give United a game.Sean Dyche is doing a great job there. It seems weired that Theo Walcott is no longer an Arsenal player but maybe he was getting a bit stale there and just welcomed a new challange .
It will be interesting what Sanchez brings to United.A good buy but 400 k a week....ah the modern game its dripping in money.

Thanks Ian. I think we may have a chance of an upset if we tie all their laces together first
Well, Chris, a valuable point against high-flying Spurs. I suspect you're pleased with that.
What the hell are Watford's owners up to? I think I read that they have had ten managers since they bought the club. Yes, ten. Crazy.

Absolutely. We were well up for it. The Saints paradox is that we can play well against City, Utd, Spurs but still get beaten at home by Leicester etc. And I mean no disrespct to Leicester when I say that.
This Friday in the i newspaper, West Ham fan Joe Light refers to 'Moyesiola'. :-))
Chris - Nice Southampton Win in the FA Cup.
Looking foward to Cardiff - Man City tomorrow its on BBC 1 at 4 p.m......Hope we run riot.....but not getting complacent
Thanks Ian. Everyone at the club is very pleased.
Personally my concerns are more for staying in the Prem. BHA in Soton on Wednesday evening, then West Brom away on Saturday look massive.
New No 9 Guido Carrillo looked like he could be good.
Enjoy your Cardiff game.
