System Pics 2018

Welcome to System Pics 2018.
To start things off, here are a couple of pictures of my setup. There have been some big changes over the past year; a 300 and a 555PS, and some extra shelves to accommodate them.
Something I've noticed in this thread and others, is that less people seem to toe-in their speakers, which is interesting.

Yes I have noticed that and have experimented but found no advantage with the Kef uni-q arraignment.
Nice popeye, I like the KEFs I have the R100 and R50 for my cinema set up.

Its not like you can even start your explanation with "you know what a cassette is" these days!
Mind you even demand for cassettes is picking up - it’ll be 8 tracks next
Cassettes! I’ve still got my original Sony Sports Walkman. You could never quite beat making a tape!
Or as with my old Pioneer CT200 deck from Laskys - watching it chew its way through TDK D120s! Remember those TDK MA metal bodied tapes?

Basic maybe... but very handsome and should sound great.
Is the NDX basic these days? Am I the only one not driving a Bentley as well?

Which didn't justify their price premium either, if I recall rightly.

???? Sorry Dan, more just refering to only being 2 boxes and not using external power supplies.
After my wife adding some greenery! ????????

Basic as in non-complex perhaps?
Looks great Popeye nice touch with the plants.
Difficult to predict what set ups work isn't it? I'd have thought the chimney breast/alcoves/ shelves would create boomy bass problems but just shows why speaker matching to room matters.

Basic?
Why don't you show these pics to someone working in a call-center at the monthly wages of your wiring's cost and under the daily (if not hourly) threat of redundancy?
Nothing personal, but this forum has completely lost any contact with reality. NaimWorld has gone mad.

I was just about to show pics of my system with an added turntable and Stageline, but I have changed my mind. I don't want to take part in this pochade this way.
I'll send a few pics to the couple of interested friends whose email address I have. And I can't wait to read the reports by the first ND555 owners who'll call the NDS 'BIC' (broken in comparison). And what will become of the poor NDX (£3800) when the ND555 will be released? How low in the hierarchy will it go, down from 'basic'?
M.
OK, I'll bite.
Oh go on Max, please show us your system with added turntable and Stageline...
p.s. "Pochade" is an interesting word. I had to look it up...

Max, it sounds like you need to understand that the Naim brand in its self is not aimed at people that are struggling to pay for food each week or living by a day to day basis. Those people don't drive Porches and Porsche isn't targeting that market. At the same time a Boxter would be classed as basic against a GT3RS so the term basic is in context!
Probably a topic for another thread. Can we just stick to posting system pictures ?
PS - Nice system Popeye. The KEFs look rather good in white.

Damn man.Lighten up a bit. I think someone above stated basic as in non complex or simple. Nothing wrong with that. Compared to many here my 3 box system is rather basic. Now show us the new gear. Enjoy it! Let's not worry about offending people that may or may not give a damn about our collective madness and thousands of dollars spent on having a good time instead of saving the world.

Here are my basic interconnect wires. They’d need 418 hours of labour at the U.K. minimum wage, once it’s increased in April. That’s a weird concept, somewhat divorced from reality, but they do work well, and they look nice too. Donning a hair shirt and sitting on a spike while listening makes their ownership morally defensible.
As others have said, let’s leave the moralising elsewhere and enjoy the thread for what it is - the simple enjoyment of a harmless interest that unites us all.

Cheers, Nasa
They're isoacoustics gaias. On my system, they tighten the sound up (predominately the bass) whilst at the same time adding extra clarity to the mids and upper ranges. I'm cynical by nature, but these really do make a huge difference, like it could be two different speaker models type of difference.
They also take isolate the sound from vibrating through the floor, which makes myself and my downstairs neighbours happy
Here's a review that might be helpful https://www.stereophile.com/co...eaker-isolation-feet
Hi Dave,
I have listened to similar accessories too in my room, yes it is something huge improvement, but I am trying not to over doing it before having a balance system. Waiting for an upgraded 250.2 DR to replace my 155 soon.
Cheers and enjoy your system!
