System Pics 2018

Welcome to System Pics 2018.
To start things off, here are a couple of pictures of my setup. There have been some big changes over the past year; a 300 and a 555PS, and some extra shelves to accommodate them.
The sound from the QB is quite remarkable given its size just popped on 801 Live TNK via Tidal and music fills the caravan, awesome

Hi Jack, are the speakers Harbeth Monitor 40.2? Looks very cool!

Hi DrDavid, do you mean the oak platforms or the glass?

+1. Have you tried the glass + balls+ cups on their own? Symbiosis sell balls, cups and glass rings. Quite pricey. It would be interesting to compare yours with Fraim.
Thanks for posting.

Thanks Phil. My next move is to do exactly that. I will replace the oak isolation plinths on the lower 4 shelves with glass and Naim cups / balls. I have the extra four glass shelves on order (made to the exact fraim specs) and I have the cups and balls from TomTom audio.
The improvement obtained by putting the 272 and RP8 on the glass was dramatic so siting the other boxes on the same seemed sensible. I will let you know how it all sounds once installed if you are interested.
Regards
David
Yes, please David! I have HiFi Racks which look like yours. I have two shelves with longer legs and some empty shelves to increase the spacing. The isolation plinths need the longer legs, which can be ordered to any length one wishes.

I don't have a Naim Fraim but I do love the appearance of them with Naim gear.
All the different manufacturers use different mounting methods and materials, and I know that Naim have developed their system primarily through listening tests.
And I really do not say this with tongue in cheek, or with any sarcasm, but it's just so interesting that some years ago glass was often ruled out by some hifi companies as a support material, and in the case of turntables, lightweight materials (torlyte etc) were the recommended materials.
Joyful stuff from my living:

I was asking about the glass. Reading your post again (more properly!) I see that you refer to fraim glass but where did you get just the glass platform from? Thanks, appreciate the replies (and your system looks beautiful....)

Is that a huge glass of beer or are they tiny speakers?

From my local glass merchant. I gave him the exact Naim specs (from the forum) showed him a picture of the fraim and he ordered from his supplier. They are very good quality and the “ding” is there too!
Hello all! I've just signed up to this great forum, but I've been reading posts from this forum for about 8 years, so it's about time to join in. I currently live in Oslo, but might be moving to Berlin later this year. Here's a picture of my almost current setup. The CD5XS has been replaced with another Supercap to power the Superline.
So, let's hope I got Imgur right now...
Welcome to the forum.

Kmoldskred, welcome. You need to use the direct image link from Imgur. Then enter that in the insert/edit image dialog box.
Full instructions in the forum FAQ...
Thanks! Let me try again, feeling a bit like a dotard now.-)
Hooray! Well done. Looks great!
Thanks! I was a bit quick on the link-posting-trigger. I have done my best to WAF the setup. My girlfriend is "happy" with it, so all is good. I did have a lot of Naim boxes when we met, and I told her they would all need to stay. For the rest of my life at least. And then I've managed to expand the box count a little without her really noticing. We've now lived together for six years, but my Naim has been with me for eight.

She sounds like a keeper
Very nice setup and welcome.

[@mention:74919956610202366]: sorry to tell you this mate, but you're one box short. Or two.
CD5XS has been replaced by a Supercap. The plan is to get an Armageddon down the line, and Aro for the LP12. And also most likely a Core. So there you go, two more boxes!
My observation still stands!
I suppose two 555PS DR on the NDS is an option, but my plan is to upgrade the XPS DR to one 555PS DR at some point. But I'm in no hurry! Or maybe I need to think outside the box here to understand your observation? I'll have another beer and see what happens..
