System Pics 2018

Welcome to System Pics 2018.
To start things off, here are a couple of pictures of my setup. There have been some big changes over the past year; a 300 and a 555PS, and some extra shelves to accommodate them.

Bachelor pads only, I suspect... ????
Depends on how much you paid for the cables.
I have a spotlight trained on my Chord Music interconnect which is cleverly elevated to show just above the preamp on the top shelf. I'm trying to work out how to attach a price tag that I 'forgot to remove' in such a way as it doesn't look obvious.

Don't do it! Get a Project Mk II RCM - very good results, and only around £350.
Seconded. A really excellent cleaning machine at a great price.
It is worth going the extra mile for a lid though as it keeps everything nice and neat and dust free when not in use.
I purchased the Project RCM Mk2 just a couple of weeks ago, the results are first class..... I would fully recommend

+1 more here. I don’t know how it compares to other machines, but it does a terrific job in its own right. Sound is improved, noise dramatically reduced and static becomes a non-issue. Thanks again to Richard for his tips and advice for optimal usage.
Am tempted to go for a Project RCM as well.
But back to system pics ... enjoying some good music in the shade of my home office while doing some light emails.
Wishing everyone a good weekend.

It seem you are a Naim+Audiovector lover! Can you tell me your impressions about it?
I'm waiting for my brand new SR3 Signature for my Uniti Star......

Naim and Audiovector work well together. Some may find the combination a bit "forward", but I like it. It boogies. I wouldn't combine Audiovector with bright sounding kit or "hard" rooms. If you can stretch to Avantgarde or even Avantgarde Arreté level you will gain a lot of transparency and better highs (but Signature is also quite an improvement over the basic Super already). Hope your wait won't be too long.
My dogs enjoying the cooler weather and a bit of very early Elton John.
Its been a one hot one today in Bridlington, the dog and I are now relaxing to a few tunes in the caravan and the Muso QB is sounding spot on....

Cheers,
Excellent loudspeakers. My first serious loudspeakers where CM1's which I still have and love.
And a lovely Sound Org rack.

Elton and Cabernet Sauvignon go well together?
Lovely dog, Stuart.
Not sure about that Gallo wine though, which struggles to be adequate for cooking, let alone drinking. The dog, on the other hand, is absolutely first class. Maybe patting the dog numbs the tastebuds sufficiently to make the wine tolerable.

Lovely Cockerpoo Stuart, ours has a sandy blonde coat.
My dog is feeling famous, thank you all.
Nigel (HH), what happened to you only posting positive comments? I happen to like the Gallo CS or indeed the Merlot. I am not a wine buff but I know what I like!
My other dog (another cockeroo) is feeling left out so another photo is needed. Perhaps a St. Emelion is in order?

I too don't mind a Gallo Merlot it's main attribute being that it gets you pleasantly sloshed for less than a tenner .

Yes, sorry, a momentary slip. The thing is, you can get some - a few admittedly - really good wines for the £6 you’d pay for the Gallo in a supermarket. So much wine sold is big brand mass produced industrial rubbish, which people buy because it’s on discount, or two for £10, which isn’t a discount at all really. It’s such a shame. If you step up to £8 or £9 you can get something that is just so much better, as nearly all of the price of a £6 wine goes in vat, duty and the bottle, with the wine element being about 10p. If course it will still get you sloshed, as Bob so eloquently puts it, but so will meths. Not liking Gallo is nothing about being a wine snob, it’s just knowing that you can do so much better.
With HH mentioning meths the below quote from Withnail and I popped into my head.
Withnail picks up a bottle of lighter fluid]
Marwood: I wouldn't drink that if I was you.
Withnail: Why not?
Marwood: Because I don't advise it. Even the w**kers on the site wouldn't drink that, that's worse than meths.
Withnail: Nonsense. This is a far superior drink to meths. The w**kers don't drink it because they can't afford it.
[he pours the lighter fluid down his throat. He gags and gasps]
Withnail: Have we got any more?
[Marwood shakes his head]
Withnail: Liar. What's in your toolbox?
Marwood: No, we have nothing. Sit down.
Withnail: Liar. You've got antifreeze.
Marwood: You bloody fool, you should never mix your drinks!
[Withnail laughs hysterically and falls to floor, and then vomits on Marwood's feet]

Not liking Gallo Wine does not make a you wine snob but needing to tell everyone that you don't like it or drink it does.
It's good to see some examples of the Quadraspire wall shelf in these posts. It is starting to make me think that, if only for the aesthetics, I should get one. My RMS wall shelf looks very, very skanky in close proximity to the (poverty spec) Fraim.
The quadraspire wall rack that I use is almost essential for my lp 12. My system is in a den that is basically attic space. I have difficulty walking and when my tt was on a regular sv4 double width, just breathing near it would bounce the arm. I managed to find a brand new quad wall rack on e-bay. Black with a cherry shelf. IT cured all problems and sounds great. The rest of my shelves and boxes are all black except for 2 tape decks (both tandberg) and silver. Rosewood speakers - harbeth. I would strongly recommend the shelf
Hey Nigel, I have to agree that a few more pounds buys a better wine. But I do like those twe Gallo types, especially for everyday ( read getting sloshed) use. As I said before, I know what I like but accept I could do better. Anyway, more system pics please!

Here you go, the holiday system. And some wine from the campsite shop that looks, errr, interesting.
