Welcome to System Pics 2018.
To start things off, here are a couple of pictures of my setup. There have been some big changes over the past year; a 300 and a 555PS, and some extra shelves to accommodate them.

The back theres around 20mm top plate that the rear of the speaker does not cover but from the front I don't see this even the sides it's not that visible.
Thanks - is it possible to use the stands sideways as that looks like it would be pretty near an exact fit?
The problem is the bottom base, front edge to front pillar is 60mm back edge to back pillar is 50mm so would look a little odd from the front.
Other then that if I turn my speaker 90 degrees on the current stand postition it's a perfect fit on the top plate.
It's a shame the top plate cannot spin 90 degrees on the pillars as the mounting screws don't line up.

They also do the FS104 stand with open top plate sized for the Tab 10. I use these.

A while since I posted a picture of my system. The major change since the last picture has been the recent arrival of a CD555. The boxes on the bottom shelves are an nDAC and the XP5XS that powers it. This is now a secondary source which I use for the small number of albums I have downloaded and play via USB sticks.

Beautiful system, Mike. Always liked that era Focal design. Jeff A

A pre loved Rega RP6 has been introduced and is certainly proving a worthwhile addition - thoroughly enjoying revisiting my old stash of vinyl but I don't think its going to oust streaming as the primary source.
My homemade rack & TT shelf are back in the workshop for mods unfortunately. Due to an office rejig, the Rega RP6 can longer be wall mounted, so the rack will need some sort of dedicated TT isolation. Will also take the opportunity to rethink the overall structure to make it a little more expandable for future box additions, and a little better in terms of overall isolation. Some problem solving ahead, but I quite like a DIY challenge.
So back to the 1990s it is then for a few months, with a classic Soundstyle tripod steel & chipboard rack (liberated from the loft). I still quite like the old 1990s retro look, although for correct period detail, the Rega TT should have been an all black P3, or an afromosia LP12!
Also, finally got around to wall mounting the distribution block and threading ethernet cables into conduit to tidy up the cable clutter.
And in context with the period speakers on Heybrook HB1 stands.

Lovely set up Yeti and the Rega is a great match to the rest of the room features, Love those MA 252s on their stands. Enjoy it.

I've just upgraded my Excites to the wonderful Contours:
They sound already sweet out of the box, I am certain this will only better in time.
Very nice indeed, they look the same Grey as my Special 40s

Great choice - I have a pair of 14 year old Contour 1.3 Mk 2's and I recently gave them a head-to-head against some newer rivals and they still came out on top. Give 'em some welly, that's what they like and I can guarantee you'll wear the smile on your face for days, a brilliant match with Naim (and an LP12)!
oohhh! that's a cool look!!

Love that system especially the CB Nait 2. The R252's (albeit on Linn Index stands) were my first proper speakers and were lots of fun.
Thanks for sharing

That black & white theme looks very nice .

Mixing manufacturers kit and Naim era electronics shouldn't work aesthetically, but this looks superb.
How did you do that?
He put them on a rack Nigel
Hello,
I am new this particular forum and thought this thread might be a good place to start! I have over the last couple of years moved away from a blue system and on to a green system and am very pleased with my decisions! I have lots of questions but for now I’ll start with a pic of my system.. However I cant seem to be able to post a picture!,
any suggestions?

I made a similar move X32's to Contour 3.4's both great sets of speakers and go great with Naim.

'Just like that'….as my hero would say.

Thanks for the positive comments folks .
Recommissioning the Soundstyle rack was out of necessity, but I'm glad I kept it as it looks quite effective in a retro kind of way when combined with old and new Naim - plus the Rega kit as well.
I do remember dealers in the 90s using Soundstyle with olive era kit, and it was pretty obvious the racks were designed around the Naim box dimensions to suit them visually (and sonically). A very versatile design that could expand with a system. They could be bought as one, two, four and five levels IIRC, at different heights too. Each level has spiked legs and these spikes locate into spike feet cleverly hidden in the top of each leg. The design influenced quite a few manufacturers (Atacama anyone?) and I think it is a pity they stopped making them - did Soundstyle go under? Glass shelving was an option, and with RDC cones, are now supporting the Rega PS and Fono2.
But lets face it, a chrome bumper Nait2 will make almost any rack look good! Unfortunately though, it is a very tight fit with the Nam Classic boxes due to their taller feet, leaving only a couple of millimetres clearance between unit and the top meal rib, so I don’t think it will work out as a long term solution when I eventually add power amp to the UQ2 (or whatever upgrade path I go down), unless I can find taller tripod levels on 'the auction site' or experiment with the shelf material thickness and reduce it a couple of mill - will see.
Since switch on I’ve found the sound slightly more forward, but not in a bad way. A different, slightly more exciting presentation rather than better / worse, and I’m tending to listen at lower volumes compared to when sited on the ply / wood hybrid rack.
Anyway, nice to put the old timer into action once again.

The 252's are still pretty effective all these years on. At the time of purchase I preferred them to Heybrook HB1s, which were excellent, but preferred the presentation of the MA. I've compared them against a few modern designs, and almost bought Russell K Red to replace them, but they just needed more space around them than I could (then) allocate. Now I have a little most space to play with so I may explore alternatives again, but would prefer to make changes upstream first I think. They are ridiculously good value on the 2nd hand market for putting together a budget second system, plus being infinite baffle they are pretty versatile about where they are sited.
James, you have now got me thinking - I wonder how the Linn Index or Helix Kustone stands would work with these 252s, as the bigger 352 had a similar chunky pedestal stand to the Linn.
Gaaaawd Nait 2's look so good!! Even though I have one of my own, I still love seeing photo's of them, such a stunning piece of design. Great system combo, I love using the Qute with my Nait 2 also, works very well.
I'll take the RP6/Nait/MA anyday against most streamer based kit and insane priced combos
The chore of upgrading my speakers is thankfully over . I have settled on these and they sound sublime.
