What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol. XIV)

On the eve of a new year, it's time for a new thread.
Last year's thread can be found here:
Bud Powell - Bouncing with Bud
(1971)
Jethro Tull - Life's A Long Song
A pleasant enough thirteen minute EP made around Aqualung time.
Angela Hewitt - Bach
Allmusic.com:
At the best of times under the best of circumstances, Glenn Gould was compelling, but the rest of the time, he was just nuts. Nope, when it comes to the question of who the greatest Canadian Bach pianist is, the answer is Angela Hewitt, just like when it comes to the question of who the great living Bachpianist is, the answer is Angela Hewitt. In her series of recordings of the keyboard works of Bach for Hyperion, Hewitt's brilliant virtuosity, lively intelligence, and deep musicianship have defined what it means to play Bach on the piano at the turn of the second millennium. Even in this the last volume of the series containing some of his least-known works, Hewitt is not playing "the last and the least" but, as she remarks in his notes, the best of the rest. While not the best known of Bach's works, they are, at least in Hewitt's hands, supreme works of musical craft and sublime works of spiritual beauty. From the pair of Fantasias and Fugues in A minor that open and close the program through the dolorous Variations alla Maniera Italiana to the exquisite pair of chorale preludes, Hewitt has assembled her program with taste and sensitivity. Hewitt's performances here are as fine as those of the rest of her series, as serious, as witty, as virtuosic, as lucid, and as lovely as the rest of her Bach recordings. And Hyperion's sound captures Hewitt's performances in sound as clear and warm as the rest of their wonderful recordings.
A magnificent conclusion to a monumental cycle, Hewitt's final Bach disc will appeal to anyone who loves life and Bach.
Just finished.......
Helge Lien & Knut Hem - Hummingbird
Streamed on TIDAL...... Placed this in the TIDAL queue a few days back and gave it a spin. Some beautiful music, at times bluegrass influenced jazz or jazz influenced bluegrass, a fun album!
Thanks to the many posts on here with tempting suggestions of previously unheard of musicians (by me)
- these 3 arrived in the post - CDs ripped and enjoyed so far
(1971)
After that Tull EP appetiser I've had to follow with the full Aqualung.
Now Playing.......
Roger Waters - The Pros and Cons of Hitch Hiking
Streaming on TIDAL...... Over the past few days this album has got some mentions and I placed it in the TIDAL queue and now taking it out for a spin......
On CD:-
Deacon Blue - Raintown
Hooverphonic - With Orchestra - Tidal
This was recommended to me a few weeks ago and I have been listening to it ever since. There is not a bad track on the whole album. Vocals are excellent and the orchestra can play a bit too. Extremely addictive and easy listening.
Highly recommended.
Emma Bell - Handel operatic arias
(1975)
Jeff Beck - Blow by Blow
A fine taste of JB which I haven't had out for quite a while.
Earlier in the day Paul McCartney - New
Gary Clark Jr - Blak And Blu
Kenny Burrell - Midnight Blue
and at the moment Dolly Parton,Linda Ronstadt and Emmylou Harris - Trio
Alan
Melody Gardot, My One and Only Thrill, WAV CD Rip.
Picked up 3CDs from the river which arrived today, artists who’d passed me by and who get a lot of play here. This is the first I’m streaming, damn she’s good, superb interpretations. I’ll try the other 2 CDs, then I feel a trip to the river to pick up more coming on.
Good choice EOINK - that's what i'm listening to now whilst browsing the forum. Great album
Dave Brubeck - Live from the Blue Note
A very fine recording from his later period.
1975 - US pressing...
Lizz Wright, the Orchard. WAV CD rip.
Another of my forum inspired buys, a few moments into the first track I realised this was the album I’d Tidalised before Christmas, intended to buy and completely forgotten the artist’s name. Wonderful stuff, she has one hell of a voice, and really brings out the feeling of the songs. This trip to the river is not going to be cheap.
Think this is only the second album I have played today been trying to sort out a hairline crack on the headstock of one of my guitars
Now Playing.......
Chely Wright - Let Me In
Streaming on TIDAL....... Some of the sweet voice of Chely to start this Thursday Afternoon......

A superb album l’ll give it a play in the morning.
Talking Heads - Remain in Light
Just fancied spinning a record and chose this one. Good choice, me thinks.
1984 - UK first pressing...
Beth Hart & Joe Bonamassa, Black Coffee. WAV CD rip.
Third of the forum inspirations. I obviously had Bonamassa confused with someone else, I’ve had him pigeon-holed in my mind as a shredding guitarist, and avoided his stuff, this is seriously high class blues playing. A stonker of an album.
I love this thread, full of people who clearly really care for music, I’ve just found 3 new artists through it, and several more before, as well as classical performances I’d otherwise have not heard. Thanks to all the regulars for sharing your music.
It's been way to long since I last played this superb album.
A bit of Shine before bedtime.
