What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol. XIV)

On the eve of a new year, it's time for a new thread.
Last year's thread can be found here:
Foy Vance - Hope
...and now Mighty Mo Rodgers - Blues Is My Wailin' Wall
Two albums that have just blown me away listening to them for the first time with a 552. I thought I knew these albums, but so much more meaning, more emotional connection, instruments more real, vocals with more emotion, just stunning. Some tracks before I could give or take, now seem to make more sense and have drawn me in for the first time. Other belter tracks that were possibly over-played and started to sound a bit 'familiar', now sounding fresh with new dimensions.
It would seem that a 552 comes complete with a new music collection.

Glad you are enjoying the new music, we may have decided different perspectives, source vs preamp, but as long as it’s a great upgrade....happy days. And thanks for introducing me to Mo, I am currently listening to E Costello,s new album , “ look now”
Have a good one, Gazza
Pink Floyd - Ummagumma - 1980s vinyl
A peace offering to Kevin, listening to this for the first time in a long while, shouldn't leave it so long, they were on fire on this, great rock. (From the about to turn 55 Eoink.)
When Mary, Tainted.
This is a cracking album of electronica, prog rock & pop.
Enjoying some Michael Jackson this evening.

Good man, that's the best place to remain.
Hope you've got a decent bottle lined up to celebrate too
Over many years this has remained my favourite Mary Black album, and I've lots of her albums.
I can't remember who posted this up a few days back but a pristine copy (albeit for @£2.60) arrived today.
Very nice indeed.
New York City - The Peter Malick Group ft Norah Jones

It's a good'un, James. I got mine for a similar sum.
Simply Red
Symphonica in Rosso (Live at Ziggo Dome Amsterdam) - Tidal HiFi
Half way through this new album from Mick Hucknall and enjoying it very much.
Edward
Eva Cassidy - Nightbird
Listening to CD 2 of this double album and that flippin' pre amp is working its magic again. The live vibe of this recording is shining through and what a wonderful recording it is too. And that voice! The band behind Eva are brilliant too.
There are some tracks that are very dense and the venue sounds rather intimate. But the 552 keeps control beautifully with air around intruments and vocals even when the band and Eva are at full pelt. This is the kind of control when the mix is 'full on' that I have been searching for!
Wonderful stuff.
Mary Black - No Frontiers, 1992 UK vinyl
Joining MDS in this, fantastic album, Mary’s voice at its purest, the songs are a lovely range of upbeat and thoughtful, the album has a great sense of pace, superb playing from Declan Sinnott (as ever) and Garvan Gallagher. I’s probably say Babes in the Wood is my favourite MB album, but listening to this it makes a good case for itself to take that crown.
Carrying on with some more from Mr Knopfler - The Ragpicker's Dream, Why Aye Man!

And i was just wondering what to play next. A superb album and as you say, it captures a great live atmosphere and a band really enjoying themselves. Enjoy that 552
Hawkwind - Live Seventy Nine - Original UK vinyl
Tabby playing this earlier reminded me that I hadn't listened to it for ages. High energy live hard rock, from the masters of space-rock.
Daniel Cavanagh, Monochrome.
Thoughtful, emotional and gentle, Perfect for a quiet Friday evening

I might be one of the few forum members who actually saw Eva Cassidy perform live. It was in Washington DC (but not Blues Alley - it was at a club Mick Fleetwood owned aptly named "Fleetwoods") in the early 1990's. She was the cousin of a co-worker of mine which is how I found out about her.
1976 - UK first pressing // LZ - Presence.
Till this day I have not got a clue what this cover is all about.
