On the eve of a new year, it's time for a new thread.
Last year's thread can be found here:
Antimatter, Black Market Enlightenment.
I am enjoying this new release from Antimatter.
To get me in the mood for when I see her perform this evening.
I wonder how I ended up listening to an Album titled 'No Deal" today ... Anyway this is a great album discovered reading a review last year and its been a regular listen since . Very well recorded too .

Special guests – Houston Person: tenor sax (1); Mike Lee: tenor sax (2); Don Braden: tenor sax (3); Jimmy Heath: tenor sax (4); Chris Potter: tenor sax (5); Bob Mintzer: tenor sax (6); Eric Alexander: tenor sax (7); Javon Jackson: tenor sax (8); Steve Slagle: tenor sax (9); Tivon Pennicott: tenor sax (10).
A record day special.
Frankly I think you're interested because I listen to it so you don't have to... I think theres a reason the tracks on it weren't released earlier! I thought there was something wrong with my amplifiers in the first track, the mix was terrible.
I've moved on to listen to this...
Nice album, like others of Seal..

Ben Harper - Fight For Your Mind.
Ben dispels any "difficult second album" doubts with this storming set of choons.
An artist who certainly deserves much more recognition, IMHO.
VERY surprised to come across this in the Big Lots C bin for $5:
Two excellent albums on vinyl, both among my favourites of the artists concerned:
The Sylvian's a UK first press from 1987.
The Brown Bomber's the Classic Records all-analogue Bernie Grundman mastering.
Playing the two albums consecutively, kind of sums up the frustrations I'm having with the PMC speakers I'm currently auditioning. The Sylvian sounds great - deep, rich and full of atmosphere. Everything is rendered in great detail. On LZ2, certain sections (eg the electronic freakout in the middle of "Whole Lotta Love") provide similar listening pleasure. But they just don't hang together on the "rocky" parts - the music sounds a bit flabby, squashed an incoherent. There's no real sense of power or scale. They speakers are great in many ways but for me they don't really rock.
