What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol. XIV)

On the eve of a new year, it's time for a new thread.
Last year's thread can be found here:

For me, this is the high spot of the Floyd's imperial phase (1973-79). It has some of the group's best-ever playing (esp Gilmour) and some of Waters' best writing. It's aged better than just about any other record released that year. No wonder Roger Waters likes it so much these days.
Animals is one of my favourite Floyd albums, Kev. I play it more often that DSOTM.
Now playing........
Robert Plant | Alison Krauss - Raising Sand
Streaming on NAS............. just listen and you will be interested....... a fantastic pairing of vocals and some wonderful music, one beautiful album! Does not look quite right on paper but close the eyes and give a listen.........
Severin von Eckardstein is well worth hearing in Debussy's Images and Dupont's La Maison dans les dunes. He plays Dupont's cycle as an expressionistic Davidsbündlertänze, with heart-on-sleeve romantic playing, a steady pulse and wide dynamic range - a remarkable performance. His Debussy is drawn with finer brush, but still powerful and similarly inspired. Sound is demonstration quality.
Cheers

I almost feel ashamed of publishing this, thought to create some Christmas music for my girlfriend this morning, but this is as bad as it get’s an opera guy trying to sing Christmas songs, missing the gentle freedom of the likes of Crosby, Bubble etc...
Earlier home today, so listened aleady to quite something. This is one of this relaxing trio jazz albums...
Then researched Genesis another gap in my collection which I just corrected, as it’s great music...
A shame that I missed out on this for years...
Not so good as the others...
Now listening to an album which I have, but which I didn’t hear yet.....
The Frapp, in 24/96, from the Tales of Us deluxe box.
A rather enjoyable understated album.
I’m enjoying my Macca run through.

I guess it's been a couple of weeks since I last played this. Funnily enough it now seems even more enjoyable. It's like meeting an old friend after many years, they've changed, but are still instantly recognisable.
Now Playing..........
Sinead O'Connor - I do not want what I haven't got.
Streaming on NAS........ a few mentions of Sinead over the past few days have me reaching for one of her albums....... and, as usual, she is sounding mighty sweet!
Disc 5 of this brilliant box set. It concentrates on the Touch 'Em With Love album and the unreleased/lost jazz album. It's just wonderful.
The Essential Dougie Maclean - WAV CD rip
The great Scottish folkie, disc 1 of a compilation of some of his best songs, classic folk playing and songs with true heart. Played after spotting Ted_P playing some Dougie earlier

Always have a little laugh to myself when I see a Dougie album posted on here. I told him one night after a few drinks that he was crap. Just goes to show what I know.
Keeping in a pop vein, 3 CDs, 4 hours of 10cc for £4.99.
