ewemon posted:ALANP posted:Marcus Bonfanti - Hard Times.
I notice you have posted Marcus albums before but have you tried this one. It is members of The Hoax a forum fav for some and Marcus.
Covers a bit naff and to me the live set is better but worth a listen.
The band are called The Boom Band.
Personally I don't think Marcus has made his best album yet, huge talent though.
Thanks for this Ewe, it had passed me by as I have been waiting for an album from Marcus with Jawbone, but it seems it hasn't had a major release. So , I will check out the Boom Band!
Cheers
Now playing.........
Maciej Obara Quartet - Unloved
Maciej Obara (alto saxophone), Dominik Wania (piano), Ole Morten Vågan (double bass) and Gard Nilssen (drums).
Streaming on NAS........... Opening up with the Maciej Obara Quartet this dark, cold and wet Tuesday morning, a soft, gentle and beautiful sound is working well to open up this day...... they are sounding mighty sweet!
Playing on Compact Disc - Great to here again
BB King & Eric Clapton - Riding With The King, on SACD , a fantastic improvement on the initial release.
Because she played some songs from this album when I saw her perform at the Royal Festival Hall on Sunday evening. And it was sublime
Richard Egarr & Acadamy of Ancient music - Bach: Brandenburg concertos
Pink Floyd - Dark Side of the Moon (SACD)
I've had the ND555 for about three and a half weeks and thought it was about time I tried this old favourite. I don't have the 2011 remaster, but this rip from the SACD release sounds very good.
Rachel Grimes - The Clearing
'Luminous' music, as my friend Massimo would probably say.
Now playing.................
Andrew Cyrille - Lebroba
Andrew Cyrille (drums), Wadada Leo Smith (trumpet) and Bill Frisell (guitar).
Streaming on NAS............ a new release and recent acquisition and one beautiful album! a lot of space and interplay between these three musicians, love it!
Never took of like the Smiths, never inspired Factory Records or remotely interested the Hacienda. But still my Manc fav from that time..
This excellent album from Eleanor.
The Rolling Stones - Beggars Banquet, on SACD from '02
Playing on Cassette on Maxell UL S C60 - Texan Garage Psychedelia legends The Thirteenth Floor Elevators - Theres not many albums with an electric jug instead of a bass guitarist !
Just booked tickets for next years Love Supreme with GK headlining one night. Should be super special....
Barenboim conducting from the piano. Full of drama in the pre-HIP style…
