On the eve of a new year, it's time for a new thread.
Last year's thread can be found here:
Has a great version of Hey Joe.
Vinyl released 1989 - Harshly slated by the critics ????
Some great tracks on this album. ????
Bob Dylan – guitar, vocals
Jerry Garcia – guitar, vocals, production
Mickey Hart – drums
Bill Kreutzmann – drums
Phil Lesh – bass guitar
Brent Mydland – keyboards, vocals
Bob Weir – guitar, Vocals
Mahavishnu Orchestra - Between Nothingness and Eternity
Continuing my enjoyment of this band this morning. Every time I return to Mahavishnu, particularly the first three albums (actually four including the lost album), I realise just how brilliant they were as an ensemble and how much I enjoy their music. I wish I’d seen them live.

A great band Clive. I was fortunate enough to see them live at the Crystal Palace Bowl many years ago (on a bill with Lindisfarne & Yes...) and they were as great as you can imagine. There's a good box set of their albums on CD.
Time to play my favourite Mahavishnu album (on vinyl) -
Ry Cooder and VM Bhatt - A Meeting by the River
A mostly gently flowing start to the day.
Bon Iver - For Emma, forever ago
Why? Same.
Playing on Compact Disc on the brilliant value Naxos Label - Very relaxing Vivaldi Cello Concertos
Ese & The Vooduu People's latest single from bandcamp in 24/96 FLAC & MP 320
Vinyl released 2017 - Beautiful and inspiring... Bravo !!!! 8)

I'm now playing the second disc from the Between Nothingness and Eternity set which, I believe, is only available in the Complete Columbia Albums Collection boxset, which I assume is the one Tony refers to above. It is indeed a good set, better than the Columbia Original Album Classics set. The mastering on the first mentioned set set is actually better than the originals - now there's something you don't often find.
Playing on Compact Disc - A sad Eels album as Mark Everett lost his sister to suicide and his mother was diagnosed with terminal cancer so the songs are very retrospective - very moving
Nice start to the day !
Dexter Gordon quartet - Manhattan symphonie
- Bass – Rufus Reid
- Drums – Eddie Gladden
- Piano – George Cables
- Tenor Saxophone – Dexter Gordon
John McLaughlin - Thieves and Poets
Taking a break from Mahavishnu for a bit, but not really.
Madonna - The Immaculate Collection, the best of early Madge.
Curtis Counce group - Landslide
Nice straight ahead jazz from 1956.
- Bass – Curtis Counce
- Drums – Frank Butler
- Piano – Carl Perkins (4)
- Tenor Saxophone – Harold Land
- Trumpet – Jack Sheldon
Playing on Cassette on TDK D 60 - A great early 70's Steve Millar Band album
Matt Bianco - The Best Of.
Nice at the start sounding almost like Carlos Santana...
