Hi Tabby,
Glad you like it, as I've been a fan of The Scream since they first appeared.
They never seem to rest on their laurels, simply repeating what has gone before ................... a hugely under appreciated band, and with
more than a few classic album releases.
Vinyl reissue originally released 1961 - What an album - What a line up. 8)
Miles Davis – trumpet
John Coltrane – tenor saxophone
Red Garland – piano
Paul Chambers – bass
Philly Joe Jones – drums
Nice album - shows how the band went through different style phases, this being more blues oriented...
PJ Harvey - Is This Desire. One of my favourite PJ albums.
(1981)
The Police - Ghost In The Machine
This one got in to my head tonight while walking the pup (in pouring rain again) tonight. I decided to give this 2003 hybrid SACD an outing to hear some of those ear worm tracks an outing, some good stuff here and there.
Rachel Grimes - The Clearing
More 'luminosity'.
Composed and recorded to provide the soundscape for an exhibition in the Flanders Fields Museum in Ypres. Bleak but beautiful.
And keeping in a similar, but less bleak, mood...
Duke Ellington and Count Basie - First Time: The Count Meets The Duke. it shouldn't work, two orchestra's playing together ,but it does
Shaving mirror released 1995 - Jazz funk at its best. 8)
Followed up with another fine album....
Have seen this one popping up a couple of times in the last week, a fine album, but rather short...
The xx - Coexist
Not played for a while, sounds so fresh and tight. These Naim sets are not shabby
just haven't played this for a LONG time -- time to make amends -- spinning now as we 'speak'... and sounding great too...
enjoy/ken
Continued in the area of jazz vocal, I have to hear her more, some interesting stuff but not totally convincing...

Hi Dave,
I also have loads of respect for them.It was great how they made the transition of the first album to the classic Loaded and Screamadelica as they where perfect records for the post acid house dance scene in the country. As you say they always tried not to get caught in a musical rut with all the subsequent albums.
I really love the Kate Moss videos of Uptown + Some Velvet Morning and Suicide Bomb.Top Videos.
Another thing I love is Bobby's passion for music of other artists in interviews. Also live Bobby's really feeling it with his hand clapping on songs Like Movin on up.
This picture of Bobby in 1990 with some of his favourite records is very fitting for the fabulous Naim Music Room
Great album, play this every now and then..
Last one also an interesting album..l
now, why do I keep returning to this album?
enjoy/ken
