On the eve of a new year, it's time for a new thread.
Last year's thread can be found here:
Well worth a listen to those that haven't heard of her.

...now a drastic change in mood prompts Cara Dillon - Wanderer
I don't know what happens to cause such a change in mood that one minute I am enjoying Mr Primer but suddenly have an urge to listen and relax to Ms Dillon. It just shows me how important it is to have a varied selection of music across a few genres to match music to mood.
Glad you are enjoying it. The Cara Dillon is excellent as well.

Deep Purple - Perfect Strangers
(1977)
Crosby, Stills & Nash - CSN
Just Because
Tonights selection so far
Rumer - Seasons of My Soul
Neil Diamond - Home Before Dark
Jimmy Smith - Back At The Chiken Shack
Alan
Jethro Tull, Too Old to Rock ‘N Roll, Too Young to Die. Early ‘80s vinyl.
One of my favourite concept albums, and one of my favourite Tull albums, deadbeat to old greaser still makes me smile at the lyrics after decades of listening.
Bowie - Legacy
Last vinyl of the day. Fair play he wrote & sang some cracking tunes.
Steely Dan, Katy Lied, vinyl.
Because it’s smooth funky music, brilliant lyrics, superbly played and sung, one of several masterpieces by the Dan.
(1982)
Donald Fagen - The Nightfly
After CSN I'm still chasing great well recorded music so this one will do very nicely.
Beth Hart and Joe Bonamassa, Don’t Explain, WAV CD rip.
After 3 vinyl albums which together I’ve owned for over a century (all 3 chunks of ancient plastic still play really well), a rip of a CD which arrived today. My second exposure to this duo, wonderful stuff, Beth Hart can really sing the blues, Bonamassa is a superb guitarist, t’s Just very fine music.

Anita Baker - The Songstress
Streaming on NAS...... Going with a mention from QUAD 33, Anita has always had a beautiful and powerful voice and I had not heard this album previously, so taking out 'The Songstress' out for a spin.
Silver was among the most influential jazz musicians of his lifetime. Grove Music Online describes his legacy as at least fourfold: as a pioneer of hard bop; as a user of what became the archetypal quintet instrumentation of tenor saxophone, trumpet, piano, bass, and drums; as a developer of young musicians who went on to become important players and bandleaders; and for his skill as a composer and arranger.

(2016)
Breakfast presented by Petroc Trelawney on BBC R3. I love this programme at this time of the day.
At the moment it's Monteverdi something or other played by His Majestys Sagbutts and Cornetts.
John Fogerty. The Blue Ridge Rangers (1973). On CD from 1991. Fogerty's first solo album after CCR is mostly blue grass with a hint of swamp rock. For my musical tastes, everything he did after this was better.
Yesterday evening, a great album....
Now the new album, sounds great...
Paul Simon. One-Trick Pony. On original vinyl from 1980. This album has been growing largely on me lately. Jazzy and artistic and I've been giving it repeated listens. Great SQ plus the title track and "Ace In The Hole" were recorded at the Agora Ballroom in Cleveland, Ohio, a venue I frequented back at that same time.
Slightly irrating the tracks are from a number of performances rather than a single concert but still very nice!
Today's soundtrack.
10cc: Live and Let Live
I don't usually go for live albums but this is produced to perfection and has all the flair and jammin' they should have had on their studio work. If I had to get only one 10cc album, this live one would be it.
