Tony Allen - A tribute to Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers

Good jazz. Well known jazz tunes reinterpreted / rearranged by Tony Allen and his band.

Propaganda: a secret wish

2011 Music on Vinyl re-pressing on heavy weight semi translucent blue grey vinyl.

From the ZTT stable: all the dynamics and clarity and sound stageof that great 80s sound-house.

Difficult to categorise and yet as bright and vibrant as it was then. the reliance on the Yamaha DX series synths and sequncers gives it an immediatley identifiable timeframe with the haunting sound of cold war fuelled anxiety.

Wildwood Kin - Turning Tide, WAV CD rip

Young folk-rock trio, I saw them playing on the OGWT tribute the Beeb did earlier this year and liked them enough to get this CD the next day. Good songs,,well sung and played, lively performances, they’re a classy band. Looking forward to seeing them at Cropredy next year.

I just was thinking that the blu-ray might be better, as it also gives the other channels and therefore becomes less focused.

1966 - Vinyl  - US first pressing // The Godz - Contact High With The Godz...

I was going to save this album for tomorrow evening but it kept on staring at me and I could not resist. There was some really good music going on in those days. Not just the usual suspects but this is damn good.
