On the eve of a new year, it's time for a new thread.
Last year's thread can be found here:
I know I have some strange transitions, but posting on the DVD topic triggered me to this. With the ND555 I feel more comfortable to put it very loud 10 am level or even a bit more... the guitar solo still brings a shifter on my spine...
Just started this one again. I will need to get it, it’s very very good..., amazing if you see that the guys didn’t practice a lot...
This one will do nicely on this cold and frosty morning.
We are going to see the Chiaroscuro Quartet tomorrow and they will be playing this... So getting in the mood.
(2012)
Because I fancied some more from Ludwig Van' and the 9th is a favourite as is this hybrid SACD box set.
John Phillips - Pay Pack & Follow
Stonking album, so much Stones-like feelgood.

Hoping for a Christmas sale from the Spirit of Turtle Shop, then I get some stuff in 24/352.....
Just filled with an Amazon buy an essential gap in my collection...
A very dynamic quartet, will get later their new album from Bandcamp...
Tidal playlist of some classic dub reggae music. Exceedingly good!
LIstening on MBP/Dragonfly/HD 700 whilst waiting in anticipation for the return of my streamer from service, hopefully, next week.
Kapsberger with today's first cup of coffee:
Bert Schurink posted:Triggered by the posts under the ND555 impressions taking on some Simply Red. This album is not the best I think, the addition of the symphonic players takes out the punch of the music, so it becomes a bit lazy. At the beginning of the concert his voice is having trouble as I remember from the concert at North Sea Jazz Festival, later on it get’s better...
Bert, Does that leave him singing unaccompanied?

Playing on Compact Disc - Wow ! always blows me away the Trevor Horn production and strength of the songs. The bass line in Show me is wicked.
One of my favorite albums from an under appreciated talent, Lester Bowie.

He is backed with a kind of symphonic orchestra and some rock musicians as it seems - but very laid back work, not snappy....., if he would have been backed with an extended big band it would have been much more exciting.
Before I don’t like it, too mixed...
A bit like arena sound, but not my cup of tea...
For a couple of songs nice, but the acoustic type of setup becomes too dull for me after a couple of songs...
These guys seriously rock, I should get something more from them,...
An unusual trio, but fully at the top of their game, bringing exciting music, also nice sounding. So a full recommendation...
