On the eve of a new year, it's time for a new thread.
Last year's thread can be found here:
Brilliant all female folk quartet from Orkney.
Whilst searching in YouTube for that Page/Plant clip, I came across this, which is a very good cover of the Led Zeppelin version of Memphis Minnie's song, When the Levee Breaks by an all female band, Zepparella.
Now playing on CD, this is a modern classic:
The Who - Who's Next. 1/2 speed master, pretty good vinyl release.
Art Pepper - Roadgame
Art Pepper in very fine form.
- Alto Saxophone – Art Pepper (tracks: A1, A2, B2)
- Bass – David Williams (2)
- Clarinet – Art Pepper (tracks: B1)
- Drums – Carl Burnett
- Piano – George Cables
dknk posted:Aja (1980). Mobile Fidelity vinyl pressing from 1980. I've not heard any better, vinyl or digital. Edit, I just noticed Steve s posted earlier, I'm not trying to out do you, coincidence....
Have you listened to the Cisco version.????????
Pierre Moerlen's Gong - Gazeuse!
Sounding exceptionally good from CD rip, but then I've changed both amplifiers and streamer since I last played it. Bears very little resemblance to Daevid Allen's Gong, this is jazz-rock, with Allen Holdsworth on guitar.
Vinyl released 1970 - The Fabs final studio album and they were on top form. Great album ????
Clive,
You will love this album I am sure.Vanessa Fernandez doing an album of Zeppelin covers including when the levee Breaks.I don't have the album but have listened to tracks on You Tube and there great covers.
Her Use Me album is superb for songs and her cover of Curtis Mayfields - I am here but I am gone is a audiophile classic well played at shows as it really shows the resolution in your system.I have it in my collection.
I know you are a ND 555 user so stream both if you can.
Cheers Ian
Playing on Vinyl - Nice debut album by Peter Tosh to kick back to after a day at the coalface - My Focals are moving some air and the beef casserole is smelling sweet

Listening on TIdal, great recommendation.....hopefully Xmas stocking?
After a long week it's nice to sit down and begin the weekend's listening with some relaxing Cara Dillon.
Dire Straits - Love Over Gold. On reissue heavyweight vinyl. This album just sounds great, I mostly listen to digital because it's so darn easy and good sound quality too. Every now and again I go on a vinyl run to great joy, tonight's the night.
The Steve Miller Band - Bingo! .
(1988)
Sliding Gliding Worlds
A change of musical tack to the Ozric Tentacles, this one is a very fine album from the boys and girl who were arguably at the peak of their powers around this time.
Danielle Nicole - Cry No More
I have been playing so much music recently (got a new toy) so thought it time I started to post some.
This gal can rock!
Double vinyl released 2015 - Doesn’t come much better. Superb stuff ????

I was playing a few Donald Fagen albums last night and fancied more of his style with Steely Dan. Beautifully recorded, ripped from my 1984 MCA early original CD.
Still the best cd version Steve.
Brandi Carlile Live (in a cave) official recording.
Joni Mitchell - Ladies of the Canyon - 1980s vinyl
Fancied some Joni, her poetic lyrical genius coming through, some wordplay, but also those simple couplets that perfectly summarise a feeling/emotion/situation, simple yet sophisticated piano playing enhancing the words and that pure voice.
An official live Kacey Musgraves recording
